Here is video of the Rev. Franklin Graham on with Greta Van Susteren last night, where he said he plans to go to the Pentagon today - on the National Day of Prayer - and pray outside the Pentagon for our men and women in uniform since he was dis-invited to participate in an event inside.
"I'm just going to stand out there and pray. I don't have to be invited to a prayer service to pray for the men and women who serve this nation. I am so proud of my son who is on his 4th deployment (to Afghanistan). I pray for him and the men that are under him, and the men that are above him, and I'm so proud of the men and women of our Army, our Navy, our Air Force, our Coast Guard - I'm proud of them. I'm going to the Pentagon just to pray. I want them to know that I support them."Graham said he has not heard from Obama on the issue of his being disinvited to participate in the Pentagon event, and that the military Chaplains he has spoken to "have to say what they have been told to say."
Not sure if this cuts any ice with you, but, the God of Israel has a few issues:
Proverbs 6:16-19 These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:
A proud look,
a lying tongue,
and hands that shed innocent blood,
An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations,
feet that be swift in running to mischief,
A false witness that speaketh lies,
and he that soweth discord among brethren.
14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
Bless Franklin Graham for his devotion to God and country and having the courage to not kowtow to Islam.
These six things doth the “LORD” hate:
My point is very simple. Franklin Graham’s actions are not to incite hate and not to encourage hatred. By saying he is, is false. By saying he is simply plays into the hands of those that claim Christians are hate mongers, which they are not.
Amen! Outside of Christ, I have nothing and am nothing. In Him, I am part of The Redeemed. Good news that needs to be shouted!
Christ knows the future course for the wicked in their lost state and in His great mercy still told us to pray for them. It is the work of the Lord and He alone that I am in any way able to pray for my enemies. However, that prayer is for their repentance and to believe in Christ and that they might be exposed and humbled so they might see their need for Christ, not that the Lord prosper them in their state of wickedness.
Or perhaps he told us to love and pray for them that our hate not overwhelm or overcome us. Lest we have no witness being consumed by that hate. It is a governor on our hearts to remind us to do the near impossible to honor Him.
It is a great mystery of the Lord that He instructs us to do this and something I need a lot of work on. But, I in no way am to tolerate their wickedness and am instructed to expose the darkness in the light according to Ephesians 5:11.
The amazing grace of God is that he still desires they repent than to stay in their wicked state. He HATES them where they are at in it. But desires that no man perish but would receive Christ and His sacrifice for them. He ‘so loved the world’ to send His only Begotten Son for us but hates the wicked in their current condition. Now that is grace!
Psalm 5:5-12
5 The arrogant cannot stand in your presence;
you hate all who do wrong.
6 You destroy those who tell lies;
bloodthirsty and deceitful men
the LORD abhors.
7 But I, by your great mercy,
will come into your house;
in reverence will I bow down
toward your holy temple.
8 Lead me, O LORD, in your righteousness
because of my enemies
make straight your way before me.
9 Not a word from their mouth can be trusted;
their heart is filled with destruction.
Their throat is an open grave;
with their tongue they speak deceit.
10 Declare them guilty, O God!
Let their intrigues be their downfall.
Banish them for their many sins,
for they have rebelled against you.
11 But let all who take refuge in you be glad;
let them ever sing for joy.
Spread your protection over them,
that those who love your name may rejoice in you.
12 For surely, O LORD, you bless the righteous;
you surround them with your favor as with a shield.
Thank you...those are powerful words of wisdom. God really knew exactly what we needed, didn’t He? !! :^)
Franklin Graham fights back. Onward Christian soldiers!
