The NBA basketball used to be the best in the world. It was like Magic. Like Magic Johnson and Kareem Abdul Jabbar. It was like a dream. Like a Dream Team with Patrick Ewing, Larry Bird, Scottie Pippen, Michael Jordan, Clyde Drexler, Karl Malone, John Stockton, Chris Mullin, Charles Barkley, Earvin Magic Johnson...
It used to be the basketball that was bringing people all over the world in the hall and in front of the TV. The Phoenix Los Suns (formerly known as The Suns) general manager Steve Kerr remembers that time. I remember I was rooting for him and Chicago Bulls. I remember those last seconds in 97. It was before I came to America. It was still the best basketball in the world. Grant Hill remembers that time back in Detroit too.
The basketball is not enough for the Suns today. May be because the last time they were on the NBA final it was in the last century. So they invited the ugly political bickering on the court. What a shame for the NBA! What a waste of legacy!

Los Locos
Shouldn’t that be Los Soles?
Why does the Phoenix Suns management want to weigh in on the politically correct side of the issue? What exactly are they trying to say?
I hear rumblings that activists want major league baseball to pull the 2011 All Star Game from Phoenix. That too would be taking the politically correct side of a controversial social/political issue. Traditionally sports stay out of these controversies.
Why have a Spanish statement “Los Suns”, when immigrants are supposed to learn English? Is the Suns management talking down to the Hispanic immigrant community and expecting them to communicate only in Spanish?
I wonder how many of their fans will be alienated by a statement on a contentious issue? We enjoy sports to be entertained, and to escape from the problems of the world for a while. So now sports teams want to introduce these issues from the outside world and make liberal statements to their fan base. Interesting....................
You must understand that these are very simple minded people. They don’t look beyond the first emotional wave.
I guess your Spanish is better than their English :)May be they wrote it in spanglish :)
In this article there is a poll that asks people.. Do you think the Phoenix Suns should be getting political? 78.9% are against it. Click on the link and vote!
On KTAR this morning a Phoenix Suns rep danced all over the subject. I think they are starting to realize how many people they pissed off!
So....the Phoenix Suns have entered the world of politics?
They must be pulling in a lot of money! I guess dead ranchers and border guards come out below illegals....
Arizona’s Los Losers will be playing LA’s illegal alien Hedge Clippers.
Thanks!...I hit it. by this poll it would appear Los Sun just went into Los Crapper.
“Shouldnt that be Los Soles?”
“Lost Souls” is more like it.
Another reason to add to my list of reasons why I don’t watch the NBA.
They can take their game and shove it. Yesterday, one of our vendors came in trying to give away tickets to the Suns and there was not ONE taker. Everyone is disgusted with them.
Will the Suns remember Kelly Tracy? She’s another victim of an illegal immigrant. This tragic car crash happened just a mile from my house.

Sadly, this illegal had been living in the U.S. for over a decade and had two prior DUI’s.
Spurs Coach Gregg Popovich is on board too:
This reaction, I agree with Mr. Sarver, is inappropriate. It’s kind of like 9-11 comes, and all of a sudden there’s a Patriot Act, a knee-jerk sort of thing, and it changes our country and what we stand for. This law smacks of that. What he’s doing tomorrow night is very wise and very correct.
I wouldn’t take the tickets either. I’m so ticked I don’t think I can stomach watching the game tonight . I really hope the fans show major protest to this when they are at the game.
I hope it will be open doors (borders) at the game tonight. I hope no tickets (Papers) will be required. I hope that the Season Ticket and Luxury Box holders (property owners) will have No Problemo with squatters. I hope that the Ushers (local law enforcement)will be required by ownership to look the other way. It should be a nice orderly procedure.
What’s funniest about is it’s not even actually Spanish. They left the Suns part in English and added a pointless Los (the) into the name that wouldn’t be there otherwise. A classic hollow gesture.
I’m tempted to actually go to the game and wear a shirt that says.... “Illegal is Illegal ... what part of that don’t you get?”
