Corporations must be held accountable for their actions

And the judicial branch of our government will ensure that all lawsuits are properly settled.

Obama is assuming the role of the judicial branch in much of his BP rhetoric. Contrary to popular belief, Obama is not cook, waiter and bottle washer. (Although I wish he were -- at a diner in Kenya.)

Well, I don’t know ... it seems to me that BP is the one responsible, if they own the rig (perhaps it was owned by several partners...). Anyway, whoever owns it, they’re the ones who are going to be responsible to clean up the mess.

There is only one other party I can think of that could possibly be “responsible” for this cleanup — and this “other party” is usually responsible for a lot of these kinds of troubles.

That “other party” who may be “responsible” for the “clean-up” of this mess — well..., that’s the American Taxpayer. And to tell you the truth, the way I see it all working out is that BP is going to shift a good part of that “responsibility” over to the American Taxpayer.

So, I would say, “Get ready to be as responsible for this mess, as BP is...” as that’s probably what is going to happen ... anyway...

I mean, the “money” is going to come from somewhere, and it’s either going to come from the “business and investors” or it’s going to come from the American Taxpayer... [... I’m not sure which one you want it to be, though ...]

Didn’t BP already say they would cover the costs of cleanup? Oh that’s right, the envirowackos want some criminal charges made up and sue them for even more money to give to some other undeserving envirowhacko organization.

Um, how exactly are we supposed to FReep this thing? I don’t see an option for anti-signing it.

BP is in the process of cleaning it up; they've come up with the ingenius method of using domes to contain the oil right out of the ground, and then pump it to the surface.

They're also taking great strides to clean of the part that already spilled. They are taking the claims of businessmen and fishermen for their losses, and they are providing hundreds of jobs, sorely needed during this obama recession.

I think BP is acting as admirably as possible, given the circumstances. So, I'm going to pass on your little "petition", as I wouldn't join barack obama on an Easter Egg hunt...oops, forgot, he's a muslim and they don't do that.

Now, run back to DU and your regular haunts where people are stupid enough to fall for your tricks...we don't want any.

The only "slick" I see is "slick willie II", obama.

Maybe you should read the reports on what companies were subcontracted to manage this well.

BP owns it
Trans ocean co. dilled it
Haliburton. performed the cementing to it 20 hours before it blew up.

So I would really have to question the well drilling process and the typical Haliburton quality of well services.

Based off of the article I was reading Haliburton over pressured the well in the cementing process and probably fractured the well casing.

But then again I only worked for oil companies I didn’t own them.

The “Help Obama” part is a dead giveaway.

I’ll bet they would never think Obama was guilty if he had been prez on 9/11.

I would say that BP is supposed to be held accountable for the whole thing, no matter what it takes to take care of it all. That's just the way things work in real life.

No matter who I am and who I vote for, if my car runs into someone else and does damage, it's my insurance that is supposed to pay, and even then, I may have to pay something more, if they don't cover it all.

Likewise, I don't care who someone is, if they run their car into my front yard and smash up stuff... they better fix it all ... :-)

Anyway, that's just "normal life" -- that the responsible party pays the bill... and pay all the bill, too... (and not the American Taxpayer).

See Post #35 for what Governor Barbour has to say about that, too ...
