Ever since WWII, America has been a dominant force upon the high seas. We have become so advanced in our military technology that the Soviet Union eventually collapsed, in large part because Ronald Reagan would not back down against them. In honor of his accomplishments and great leadership, congress named the worlds largest aircraft carrier after him, the USS Ronald Reagan.
Thanks to Reagan, America has been able to set the standard for which other nations have wished to achieve. Well it has been 22 years since Reagan left office, and while we have been able to hold our status as the worlds most powerful military force the world has ever seen, those days could be coming to an end. Thanks in large part to the anti military sentiment that prevails in Washington, America is beginning to lose the battle of technological advancement.
What you will see in this video is a report about the Swedish submarine, NemoSaltadSobrius, which cannot be detected by our navy. Even worse, this submarine has reportedly sunk our best and most powerful naval ships in mock war games. Check out this report by Chuck Henry of channel 4 news out of San Diego. Henry reports that the US Navy is attempting to figure out how to detect the Swedish submarine before our enemies can discover the secret of its elusiveness.
I am glad our navy is trying to figure out a way to detect this sub before a rogue nation like Iran or North Korea gets their hands on the technology for it. However, it should be other countries trying to figure out how to stop us and our equipment, not the other way around. Which brings me to the million dollar question, "Why are we even in this predicament"?
Well it begins with the fact that most Americans do not know that the US Constitution explicitly states that the number one job of the United States Government is to secure the borders of America. That's right. The founding fathers knew that it was incumbent upon the government to defend our......

I don’t publicly announce it, but I believe her reasons for leaving were less than auspicious. It’s not business to question her, but a medical discharge for a woman who’s in better shape than most men I know is garbage.
So why do you think the Swedish sub isn’t as detectable as any other sub of similar size and shape using an active sonar system?
No, not at all! I’m very close with her, and she’s always been very chaste. She may have had legitimate medical issues with her back, but methinks her issue was the time away from home and friends. We’re a very tight knit family, and her being in Afghanistan for 8 - 11 months was very difficult on the family overall.
The phrase “don’t believe everything you read” is a common idiomatic expression which doesn’t make any implication about the person it is directed to. Don’t you see that sometimes news reports are incorrect, or perhaps intended to convey false information to opponents? Do you remember the many articles about how the Glomar Explorer was going looking for manganese nodules?
That makes sense.
You know, that is why the original rule for the military was that only officers could be married.
Ever rip off a big nasty with an ALFS system?
I wish I was as healthy as a teen as I am now. I was very overweight coming out of high school but desperately wanted to be a Marine. I would still gladly go into the service, but I’m still over the weight proscribed by all branches. I feel, perhaps, that I am better off being a loud proponent of conservative ideology and use my knowledge and education for the betterment of our country. I suppose only time will tell.
In this case, I am the person who wrote the article, so I do know for a fact it’s true. When I found the video and watched it, I first thought it was bogus. However I looked into it and double checked my facts before I ever wrote the article and posted the video.
Everyone should keep in mind several things
1) This is a new class of submarine using a new type of propulsion system. It is not detectable via our sonar. That doesn’t mean our men and women in uniform are suddenly slacking off on their jobs. It’s a technology issue, the adversary has evolved and so must our counter measures.
2) In 2004 The US Navy leased one of these subs and it’s crew from Sweden for 2 years so they could war game against it,study it and develop effective counter measures. They gave it back to Sweden in 2007.
3) When the source story mentions the success this sub has had against our navy, it was during the 2004-2007 time frame that we had it leased from Sweden. This isn’t something that happened last week.
Gates suggests big changes coming for Navy
"Do we really need 11 carrier strike groups for another 30 years when no other country has more than one?" Gates asked.
The real answer to your question goes into classified info. I don’t have to think. I lived the life at greater than 400 feet sitting at a sonar system tracking contacts. I am a qualified Submarine Sonar Supervisor.
No
It's what's in the boat that counts!
We need volunteers to uncover this Sved Dish!
ALFS would find it.
