Erratic Behavior of the White House may turn the oil disaster into Obama’s Katrina

The WH seems to be busy with mostly political campaigning these days. The messages concerning the massive oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico seemed to instill confidence that things are under control. We were led to believe that the oil spill was mostly a problem of the British Petroleum.

Really? If a spot can be seen from the space it is likely the spot is important enough for the National Security to be paying significant attention. The erratic info coming from the WH made people confused – as the time progressed we learned the oil spot is five times bigger than expected. They told us the disaster is coming faster just when it is about to impact the Louisiana cost. The Governor of the State finally issued an emergency and the BP finally asked for help from the Department of Defense. What took Bobby Jindal so long to call the National Guard? Common! Every person in the world saw the satellite images.

Remind you of something: disaster hitting Louisiana, military called too late – observing while the losers in charge cannot give a decent estimate of the problem for days, The White House waffling on the issue being afraid of midterm elections? Such erratic behavior brings a Katrina déjà vu.

It is past the time when the people involved have to start talking straight and coordinate faster. How many disasters have to hit Louisiana so the USA government can respond correctly? If there is something visible from the Moon heading to Louisiana you call the Department of Defense not on day three, but on day one? We can always bill the BP later, but letting them to wander around the Gulf in disarray for days is just not acceptable.

Gibbs sounds just as interested as Michael D. Brown, the former FEMA director, who was preoccupied writing emails the day the levees broke in New Orleans.

Do you think it's possible these two know each other?

There is something VERY STINKY going on in the gulf of mexico, and I do not mean oil on the water.

The whole world is watching the spot for days - and Jindal calls the guard today? They are still thinking about calling the DOD. Give me a break - may be they want the disaster to be bad - so they may have their pictures for propaganda purposes.

We should be shrieking like hyenas .. just like the other side did during Katrina. Ironic that it will affect the same area.

IMHO this will be the administration's long awaited opportunity to put the kabosh completely on oil drilling for the USA. Gasoline prices are going to skyrocket and THIS will be Obama's excuse for same and NOT proceeding with oil drilling anywhere in our nation or the waters appertenant thereto. Advice from his eco-nutjob czar will be his mantra and the plight of citizens attempting to survive rising costs on everything, unemployment, cap and trade, amnesty, high taxes, fear of what his unread healthcare plan will do to each of us and our nation, massive national debt, and every other trick he can pull out of his hat appear to be of no concern to him (while he golfs and flies around the nation and Al Gore buys another $9 million dollar mansion).

Obama - Oil rigs today generally don't cause spills

Snip: I don’t agree with the notion that we shouldn’t do anything. It turns out, by the way, that oil rigs today generally don’t cause spills. They are technologically very advanced. Even during Katrina, the spills didn’t come from the oil rigs, they came from the refineries onshore.

Now this idiot has overseen the largest oil spill disaster in the history of the USA...while he sat and did NOTHING!!!!

And wasn’t he the one who said that if he were elected POTUS that this would be when the planet began to heal itself?

MamaD, I am really very suspicious of what has occurred in the gulf. Gas is @ 2.91 just up the street. We are being ripped off and fooled straight to our faces, and very few people can even see it.

What have we done? My God, please save my country.

Oil on the beaches..... so? You can't keep a paved highway next to a beach in a hurricane, why worry about an oil spill. The next hurricane will wipe it clean.

yes, the oil company should be liable if its not terrorism. Could terrorism have caused this?

The current administration in DC could have contracted it out!

I put nothing past the communist in the White House.

Could someone please tell me the explosion hazard on oil rigs? I would assume oil rigs are pretty safe thanks to our litigious society.

just a note, liquid gasoline will not burn, much less crude oil.

I think never.

They are going to kill the automobile, because the automobile is the blood that flows in the veins of america. The automobile essentially is the very blood of modern freedom. Without it, this will be a 5 th world country within a month, there iwll be no economy whatsoever, and that is exactly what this admin wants.

offshore drilling is stopped.

two disasters in Kentucky and W. Virginia. Within two weeks.

this is f'ed up.

not a coincidence.

this is a plan...

This nutcase calls out the swat team against little old ladies exercising their right to free speech and to assemble and today he calls out the swat team to watch over an oil slick.

Truly frightening examples of a man out of his mind. Too much booze? Too much crack?

I do trucking logistics for UOP/Honeywell.
We had our monthly metrics meeting today. My account manager mentioned that the odds of this happening is Powerball-lottery type odds. Oil rigs simply don't explode unless maintenance was non-existent, and these babies are routinely inspected and maintained.
I would, quite possibly, say that sabotage could be involved here.

Well it would be Obama’s cure for health care if everyone had to WALK everywhere. We would all get in shape and go back to the 1800’s way with horse crap all over the place. Then his cronies could sue the horse owners for contributing to polluted air quality.

I am really very suspicious of what has occurred in the gulf.

Given this administration's czar's insistance to take us off of fossil fuel pretty much in entirety (and coal with the disasters happening lately), we're in for a very bumpy and EXPENSIVE future ahead of us. You can see the dots connecting already.
