We wouldnt have 1/32 the problems we have today if Mac had won.
Sorry SoCalPol, but I think you are off-base on this one.
McCain would have gotten Amnesty passed already, he would have gotten some type of big-government Healthcare solution passed, he is always presenting some type of big-governemtn solution to every problem, he would have had some type of Cap-n-Trade finished already, remember, he famously said that the "Science is settled", and you really don't here hime say all that much about the subject right now, kind of like he is biding his time so he can get past those pesky conservatives in the primary.
We would have been going to hell all the same, just at a slower pace.
He would have hastened the demise of the GOP by alienating a good part of his conservative base, including small 'l' libertarians, limited-government conservatives etc.
Furthermore, and most importantly, you wouldn't have the Tea Parties and the limit government conservatism this will usher in.
I hate to say it, but sometimes the medicine is bitter that we have to take.
Read the old testament and all the times God punished the Israelites by having them run over by their enemies or taken to another country because they refused to do the right thing.
It was the only way He could wake them up.
I'm afraid the same thing is happening in America today.
Humans are stupid, myself included, many times it takes a bat up-side the head to get our attention.

What Obama has done to America will not be reversed.
The Torah is, let us see to believe.
Right now with nuclear weapons that can hit us in 30 minutes,
we don’t have the luxury for self punishment with an Obama to prove something

The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary. —H. L. Mencken

I’m going to agree with SoCalPol. McCain and Palin would have been trying to get employment numbers up by tax breaks. They would have tried to help business.(albeit to far i’m sure) Anything else on the plate would never get out of Congress. We would be in a stalemate and private enterprise would have already turned this economy around. The marxo/commie/socialist Obama agenda would be non-existent.

Not to mention we wouldn’t have that long list of liberal to Marxist czars
Also McCain has 2 sons and Sarah 1 son all serving in the war.
It was Mac who helped push for the surge which helped
change things for the better in Iraq.

It wasn’t fair to say The McCain admin would be anywhere near Obama and his circle of trust. Obama is hell-bent on destroying freedom and making everyone wards of the state. With McCain it would have been gridlock and Capitalism moves on. (Yes, major bailouts would have probably occurred but I still haven’t figured out that infamous Sept run on capital.)
What he has done is set us on a sure path to failure and global indebtedness. thanks Odingo
