Shuns challenger who promised "pro-family" judges. Conservatives sell out in droves.
The Massachusetts Republican Party has nominated the most extreme pro-homosexual, anti-family candidates for Governor and Lt. Governor ever to run as Republicans for a state's top offices. Predictably, the results were greeted by cheers in homosexual blogs and websites across the country. The delegates to the Massachusetts State Republican Convention last Saturday overwhelmingly nominated Charlie Baker for Governor and his hand-picked running mate Richard Tisei for Lt. Governor.
As some observers put it, the RINO takeover of the Massachusetts Republican party is now complete. Vast numbers of social conservatives essentially sold out their principles in favor of the party establishment's wishes.
Charlie Baker publicly supports homosexual "marriage" and abortion. While CEO of Harvard Pilgrim Health Care the company had a policy of supporting "gender identity or expression." In 2008 Harvard Pilgrim scored a perfect 100% from the national homosexual group Human Rights Campaign for its employment policies. (This means it even paid for employees' "sex-change" procedures!)
Baker's fiscal history is also troubling. He was Gov. Bill Weld's budget chief during the expansion of the "Big Dig" -- the most expensive public works project in history -- in the 1990s. For the last ten years Baker has made millions as head of Harvard Pilgrim, as premiums went up by several times the rate of inflation. Baker also supports the Quinn Bill, seen as a fiscal boondoggle by many conservatives.
Richard Tisei, a state senator and Baker's hand-picked running mate, is probably the most left-wing Republican officeholder in history. He is openly homosexual and is a co-sponsor of the radical "Transgender Rights and Hate Crimes" bill (H1728) currently in the Legislature. He strongly supports same-sex "marriage" and voted NOT to let the people vote on it. He appears in a hideous pro-homosexual "marriage" propaganda video produced by the homosexual lobby (complete with phony statistics). He has a 100% rating by NARAL Pro-Choice Massachusetts and a 100% rating by Planned Parenthood. He co-sponsored the expanded buffer zone bill. He also co-sponsored the "emergency contraception bill" that was vetoed by Gov. Mitt Romney. On the fiscal side, Tisei has voted against bills to reduce taxes earning him the wrath of Citizens for Limited Taxation.
Massachusetts GOP, that’s funny! And everyone is still all giddy over Scott Brown. There is no such thing as a free lunch and there is no such thing as a conservative politician in the state of Taxachusetts! They preferred to be called a commonwealth. What a bunch of panzies!

I think I will be voting for Cahill also. Since there is no difference between Baker and Patrick, we may as well lob a few molotov coctails (figuratively speaking).
Cahill may be the same as the other two, but don’t you want to kick Baker in the nuggets? That is the point. The only message we can send at this point is to show our anger by punishing those who betray us. You expect this nonsense from the Dems but when “your side” knifes you in the back, it is time to punish them right back.

I am not against a third party but we have to be smart about it. It would be Quixotic to run a third party candidate against Obama but it would not be a bad idea in areas where there are no real viable Republicans such as in Massachusetts today. We have to be selective. Pick districts where there are no Republicans running (which is not uncommon in Mass) and enter an independent. There is also a Constitutional Party in Mass. It would be worth trying to build a conservative movement in Mass. It doesn’t matter if it is called the Republican Party or some other name. What’s in a name?
The far left has known for years that if they pull hard enough to the left, they will bring the moderates (including moderate Republicans) to the left. That is called strategy. We need a whole lot of strategizing on our side.
Gee the GOP once against showing how truly unconservative and Marxist like they are.

I held my nose and voted for McCain because I figured he was a dope and Obama was a mad Marxist. So if you have such a pathetic choice you have to go with the dope. And remember this was the presidency. A president has more power than anyone else. A governor or congressman can’t do nearly as much damage as a president. You have to take that into account.
But when the choices are so bad and you realize that they are thumbing their noses at you because they know that you have no place to go — that is when you use the nuclear option. In these dire circumstances, you switch from voting for the least bad (since there is no choice) and you go into fire-and-brimstone mode. Hell hath no fury as a conservative scorned! This is why I am voting for Cahill, just to put the fear of G-d in them.
Well, I’m an Independent who has voted third-party from time to time when the two major party candidates were atrocious. But I am thinking of the average MA voter who might have been fed up with Deval’s incompetence and “mini-me” status. If he/she feels there is no real alternative, he/she might stick with the Deval they know or just stay home.
The other very bad thing is that there is NO Republican running for Attorney General. Coakley has a truly horrible record (think Fells Acres), and was severely weakened by her run for Senate (even though people voted against obama, not Coakley). So she could be easily beaten by a reasonably decent candidate.

As docbj said: “NY allows a candidate to be listed by more than one party. Thus the Conservative Party can nominate the same candidate as the Republicans, or a different one, should the situation dictate.”
In other words, in some states, a candidate can be a member of more than one party. I think that’s what EV meant. That the guy in AL was part of both the AIP and the GOP. OK?:-)
