While the nation was focused on the SEC investigation into Goldman-Sachs and other major stories, a little-noticed incident occurred which may have far-reaching implications for the 2012 Presidential election.
The Arizona House of Representatives voted to require Barack Obama to produce and show his birth certificate in order to be placed on the ballot in the state for his reelection bid in 2012.
Similar bills have been introduced in Oklahoma and Missouri, although the measures failed to become law due to one of the two branches of the legislatures failing to approve.
The issue will not go away, however.
A birth certificate alone is not enough to prove 'natural born citizenship' according to the understanding of the Framers of the Constitution.

Ok...I’m confused. Why is this statement an issue....

...when just above it, in this paragraph, it says the parents MUST BE US CITIZENS:
....” Presidential candidates must be natural born citizens, that is, persons who are born within the United States with parents who are U.S. citizens.”
And, regardless, both examples have to do with children born in the U.S., which, Obama WAS NOT.
Obama will use his computerized Hawaii Certification of Live Birth to qualify for the ballot in Arizona.
The new law says that a candidate must demonstrate eligibility it does not require an original long form birth certificate.
The federal government accepts many states’ computerized print out birth certificates for passports and there is a federal law and a federal verification system in place to assure that birth documents aren’t forged or tampered with.

Sure, Dr. Orly makes mistakes. We all do. But Dr. Orly is no dummy. How many of us could go to a foreign country, learn 5 languages, establish a successful dental practice, a successful real estate business AND pass the California state bar- one of the hardest in the U.S. to pass?
She may be a ‘mail order’ attorney and not a Harvard lawyer, but she IS an attorney with all the rights and privilages of a Harvard lawyer nevertheless!
The point is; she has the passion, the zeal, the courage of her convictions and the love of America and its freedoms (unlike many of our ‘great’ attorneys and ‘patriots’ who criticize her) that will not let her give up!
She is exhausted. She is nervous. She is frustrated. It is reported that she gets by on 4-5 hours of sleep per night, and her family is very worried about her health- as well as her safety.

Exactly -- and furthermore the fact that he is/was the son of British/Kenyan national proves unequivocably that he is NOT a natural born United States citizen and NOT the legal President under out Constitution.

This issue did not come up. That said, as far as anyone knows he only claimed ONE citizenship.
Under Ronald Reagan the law was changed to allow US citizens to vote in foreign elections and even hold office abroad while claiming US citizenship without foriting (sp) it.

Had Dukakis’ parents gotten naturalized before he was born or not, that would make all the difference. If they were naturalized before he was born, fine. If not, he would not have been a natural born citizen.
prior to the last century immgration was still the perview of the states not the fed. There were no “green cards” for the founders to think about. You came here, bought land, and then you could be a citizen and vote.
We have to tread carefully on this issue to avoid the whole “living document” meme.
