Well, according to the IRS, they have no way to enforce the fines other than to take your refund (which I find hard to believe by the way) so these 4 million would be wise to fiddle with their deductions so they owe money at the end of the year. No refund = No fine.

A lot of numbers were thrown around as this obomination was debated. I believe that one realisitic appraisal claimed 10 million American citizens were without health insurance. Apparently, we will now have a situation where about 6 million of those Americans will have health insurance — and it only cost us $1 trillion!

It’s still WAY cheaper than buying health insurance especially if you have pre-existing conditions. Considering that insurance companies will no longer be able deny coverage for pre-existing conditions, the loop hole seems pretty glaring. It’s cheaper to pay the fine and get the insurance when you need it.

They have no idea on any of the numbers right now. It’s about CONTROL...Like SS and Medicare. Be prepared for another “Madatory deduction” from your paycheck.

Something was left out of the quote without an ellipsis. The following is from the original piece.

"Nearly 4 million Americans - the vast majority of them middle class - will have to pay the new penalty for not getting health insurance..."

And the middle class is already being hit hard by unemployment.
