Conservatism without The Righteousness of Almighty God is Bankrupt.

In the past five years - before our very eyes - we have seen the nearly complete erosion and virtual extinction of conservative policies and programs in US politics. It seems that The United States is increasingly becoming more like a secular socialist State than the Representative Republic of "In God We Trust" that it was founded upon. Our Judean-Christian heritage, morality and values do not dominate our culture and society as they once did. Another reality is that many have never known any other kind of society than what presently exists. Accountability, responsibility and virtue are “hisses and by-words” in Hollywood, the Media Establishment, College/University Campuses and in Washington D.C. In the Ivory Tower realms of the Society Elite, there is also scoffing. These groups on the Left hate “nominal” Christianity and hate even more true Biblical Christianity. They seek to slander Christianity – and especially Christians - at every opportunity while they defend all sorts of godlessness, immorality and vice. There is, however, a “new wave” in the arena of talk media led by Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Michael Savage, etc., who lead the current fight for conservatism. These are able to counter the mainstream Media's secular leftist liberal bent, but they are unable to stop the erosion and corrosion in secular leftist leaning Washington D.C. What are conservatives to do? Many conservatives are frustrated, many try to be optimistic, many are frightened, and many have just plain given up.

Another window into how conservatism falls far short of God's perfection. It is the best ideology for time but falls far short in the end.

There they go again. I think this is a liberal trying to split the conservative movement, just as we may be on the verge of a breakthrough.

I read through some of these blogs, he has a point about faith needing to be restored even among conservatives or what ever we try to do to restore this country will be for naught.

“Except the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain, those who build it”

Now as for the motivations of this bloggist, who can say?

While I tend to agree, I would rather be in a fox hole with a non-religious conservative than a Christian Liberal (if there is such a thing)!

I agree. It’s the right thing to promote morals and principles in conservatism, but turning it into a holy roller crusade is a huge turn-off to people like me...and I suspect many others who could be valuable allies. Limited government and respect for others to live their lives without government interference should be the core message. As much as many Freepers despise the liberal nanny state, a lot of us don’t want a religious nanny state as a replacement.

“As much as many Freepers despise the liberal nanny state, a lot of us don’t want a religious nanny state as a replacement.”

The quote of the day. We tend to forget that some of the original progressive motivation was an attempt to impose Christian virtues. They made a devils bargain with the socialists, eugenicists, and other miscellanous oligarchists. It was a handshake between churches and labor unions that got us state ownership of liquor stores in Pennsylvania. It’s the addition of the MADD mothers to the mix that keeps it in place. Let’s not make that mistake again.

And to my fellow Jews, Tikkun Olom does not mean using the government to force the rest of us to do your version of it. It means fixing that part of the world that you can directly affect.

Exactly. Flip sides of the same extremist coin. Both want to use the arm of the government to ENFORCE their personal religious beliefs on others.

"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under live robber barons than under omnipotent moral busibodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good, will torment us without end, for they do so with the approval of their own conscience." ~ C. S. Lewis

If you are insisting that we need to be your particular brand of Christian, in order to be a conservative, you’re playing right into their hands. Either you are one of them, or you are a useful idiot.

I’m just saying that you need to believe the bible and the simple message of salvation. It has nothing to do with politics.
