This video was taped in West Side Park in Champaign, IL. Mayor Jerry Schweighart claims Obama is not an American citizen. "I don't think he's American, personally."
Disclaimer: have no opinion on the so-called birther issue, but am curious what he's spending so much money to hide.

Mayor defends YouTube comments; county board member calls for resignation

CHAMPAIGN — A Champaign County board member said he was “flabbergasted” and is calling for Mayor Jerry Schweighart’s resignation after seeing a YouTube video in which Schweighart makes controversial comments about President Obama’s U.S. citizenship.
County board member Al Kurtz is denouncing Schweighart after the mayor was recorded questioning Obama’s birthplace and saying, “I don’t think he’s American, personally.”
“I think his willful ignorance of the facts and his bias against the president of the United States makes him unable to run the city of Champaign,” Kurtz said Friday.
Schweighart on Friday stood by the comments he made in the YouTube video, which circulated widely on Facebook and Twitter.
“I was asked my opinion, I gave my opinion, I could have lied about my opinion,” Schweighart said.
Asked about his reaction to Kurtz’s call for his resignation, Schweighart gave no indication that he would respond to Kurtz.
“That’s his (Kurtz’s) opinion,” Schweighart said. “He’s got a right to state his opinion, and I’ve got a right to state mine.”
The video was recorded Thursday during a West Side Park rally organized by the Tea Party, a conservative anti-tax political group.
“He now has polarized the city of Champaign and this county because of these rash statements that have no basis in fact,” Kurtz said.
In the video, Schweighart suggests Obama is hiding his history.
“You know, if you’re not willing to produce an original certificate, a birth certificate, then you’ve got something to hide,” Schweighart says in the YouTube video. “If he (Obama) doesn’t have something to hide, produce it.”
Schweighart clarified one of his YouTube statements, in which he said he questioned Obama’s status as an American. Schweighart said he does not question Obama’s current citizenship, but whether or not he was born in the country is up for debate.
Obama “can clear that up very easily” if he makes public his school or birth records, Schweighart said.
Kurtz said he had not contacted the mayor personally, but he is going to consult with the county board chairman to see if he can bring forward some kind of resolution requesting Schweighart’s resignation.
“It’s just unbelievable to me,” Kurtz said. “It boggles the mind that our mayor would think this way.”
Schweighart said media coverage of his YouTube comments has been overblown.
“I may be mayor, but I’m still a citizen,” he said.
What a little commie fascist this Kurtz dude is...LOL! Pretty soon they will want to put anyone that doesn’t worship Obama in jail! The man has an absolute right to utter his opinions!

Misprision of treason comes to mind when I listen to Obama supporters, judges and officials in the democratic party in their support of the current regime in the White House.

Geeze! How much air time has Rush given to Obama’s eligibility? Less than 5 minutes?
Some things are deal breakers. How Rush has handled Obama’s eligibility is, for me, a deal breaker. Rush is a coward or phony. I will never fully trust him again.
I conclude that if tyranny comes to this country Rush will do one of two things:
1) If Rush is a phony, when tyranny comes Rush will sell his talents to the fascist oligarchy. Rush will spit shine the jack boots crushing our necks.
Or...
2) Rush, may really be a coward but still a patriot. If this is the case, is it better to act earlier or later? Rush fails to realize:
** The fascist oligarchy will throw him off the air anyway.
** The fascist oligarchy will carry out the threats against him and his family anyway.
** The fascist oligarchy will steal his money any way.
** The fascist oligarchy will reveal his deepest darkest secrets anyway.
You state “He’s American”. Based on WHAT? We don’t know where he was born and he grew up in Indonesia. What is American about that?

not to mention the media in this country. They know very well that Obama DOES have a cloud hanging over his eligibility, yet they are good little propagandists for the regime. They ridicule anyone that doesn’t tow the dictator’s nativity story. I wake up most mornings now feeling like we are living in the old Soviet Russia or some cult commie country like North Korea.
