VANITY: I HATE FREE Roaming CATS
SandRat

Posted on 04/10/2010 3:50:39 PM PDT by SandRat

I've used commercial cat repellent, cayenne pepper, and now just put out an electronic device that's supposed to detect motion and emit an ultrasonic sound to repel them.

I'm furious, I spend 2 wasted hours every Saturday to just clean up the cat scat in my front yard.

Any suggestions out in Freeperland for chasing away the cats without hurting them that I haven't already thought of.

Oooooh! I want! [S]he’s beautiful!

I think I would go ape-chit if it were my bird and a cat (or ANY critter) even looked at it cross-eyed!

I don’t mind house cats. Free roaming cats are supposed to ba Farm cats to go after mice. Free roaming cats are not meant to be city cats.

Cats bury their poo, so you need to be on the lookout for another type of animal pooing in your yard.

Of course, if that person is inclined as you are you would be shot dead as soon as you hit their property.

I don’t believe what you are cleaning up comes from cats, cats BURY their ‘scat’ - they don’t leave it lying around.

Years ago, I took extreme pride in my lawn; but the two neighbors across the street had "free roamers" who'd wander over, dig a hole and shit next to it (it's a myth that they bury their steamers).

I let 'em both know that I was highly pissed, but it continued....so I called Animal Control and they delivered me a Hav-A-Hart trap. I just left it sitting in plain view for all to see (unbaited, unset).

It was Easter Sunday of all weird days when the Dogcatcher showed up to pick up the trap (we were only allowed two weeks) and both sets of neighbors came running out, and eventually noticed that the trap was empty.........message delivered, message taken - they popped wise and kept their little muffies away and inside from then on.

I watched two of these do just that as I pulled in the drive and my wife has seen them leave it out in the open from the sewing room window before she sould get out the door and to the garden hose.

Oh, it’s not that they’re deaf. They love their doggies, and their barking is like music to their ears. They just can’t imagine anyone being so heartless as to not enjoy them too.
***********************************************************
We have 2 dogs and a new pup, the GSD, 10yrs old prefers outdoors if it’s not too cold or too hot, the Boxer 11yrs old is a big old mamas baby and stays at my side every second.

If it’s 3am and my GSD is barking, it’s not music to my ears, it’s an alarm and I get up and flash my outdoor lights. She shuts up and whomever (unless it’s a critter) knows I’m awake and aware.

Only jerks ignore and let their dogs bark and bark without checking it out or correcting them. We had some little dogs that lived behind us that yapped and yapped, would yap the whole darn time I tried to work in the flower bed—water guns are SWEET.
