Dems’ new midterm strategy: Hey, let’s run against Bush

Via JWF. Actually, this strategy isn’t new — remember this post at TPM four months ago? — but I can’t tell if it’s a pet idea of DCCC chief Chris Van Hollen or if the whole party’s lining up behind it. Van Hollen’s the focus of both stories and he’ll surely exert considerable influence over party strategy, but even so: With voters screaming at them about unemployment, O-Care, and trillion-dollar deficits, Democratic candidates are going to look them in the eye and tremulously whisper … “Bush”?

Basically, they’re going to try to make the election a referendum on that “Miss Me Yet?” billboard. Frankly, at this point, I can live with that.

Van Hollen, chairman of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, on Tuesday signaled House Democrats will try to repeat their success in the last two election cycles by once again running under a change banner.

Geez - I sent them a letter with this very suggestion - I can’t believe they took the bait.
My next move is to start a new political 527 org. - “CommieCrates For Extinction” a truly worthy goal indeed!

Their base, about 26% of voters, will vote against Bush, but then that 26% were going to vote for them anyway. It’s the other 74% of the electorate the Demoncraps ought to fear...but apparently do not.

The GOP should embrace the Bush legacy. After all, when Bush was president, people had jobs.

This an effort to rile the BDS riddled moonbat base and stem their losses in November. Only a moonbat would be dumb enough to fall for this strategy; their Dim overlords are counting on it.

Desperate time call for desperate measures.

The GOP should embrace the Bush legacy. After all, when Bush was president, people had jobs.

Granted President Bush's support for social spending programs may have laid the seeds for the recession - but it was the Demonrat takeover of Congress in 2006 that put the plunge on full-throttle. Schummer personally started a run on the bank and ruined Indy Mac. Pelosi and her gang started a gas price scare that took the prices over $4/gallon. This spike wasn't suppressed until President Bush threatened to allow more drilling. The Dems worked actively to tank the economy so they could take the Executive Office in 2008 - the Nation be damned. The con-men succeeded, and we were...

And to this day they continue to plunge us to new depths ... 'Bush's fault' - the only words these fools can parrot when they aren't marching us into fullblown communism.

Someday conservatives will return to the positive view of bush he deserves. Failing to defend him leaves this slight though improbable opening to dems.

All of our present diificulties are 100 % attributable to dems. Beginning in Jan 2007 democrats unleashed Fannie Mae from bush’s relentless harassment as a reckless lender. Barney frank to the lead in pumping up a disatrous housing bubble. Bush’s alleged reckless stimulus spent only half the funds was paid back with interest and went to specified entities. Nothing like that can be said of obamas stimulus.

Prior to dem control unemployment was 4.7 and the deficit was trending down to balance by 2009.

I like it. For two years the Pelosi-Reid Congress went under the radar. It’s time they got the credit they deserve.
