Sure you were! It sure did not look or sound like it!

Then why did he make the “tipping over” motions with his hands, eh?

So you’ve never used a gesture to reinforce a metaphor?

Still I think he was speaking metaphorically ... I mean nobody could be that dumb ... right? I read a history of NYC and people around the early 1900’s were afraid the city would sink because of so many tall buildings being built ...

Then why did he make the tipping over motions with his hands, eh? You're obviously a racist if you don't believe his explanation.
At least that's what the democrats will be saying now.

Hello, Georgia. Are YOU going to let this idiot win another election?
Good grief. This guy should be on SNL.
Vote these O-Holes OUT. Man oh man.
Hey, Georgia voters, where does this intellectual lightning rod buy his crack? He looked stoned. Believe me, are there mushrooms growing wild in your state?
And these are the pricks that tell YOU what YOU owe everyone else.
What a joke.
Get off of your asses.

If George Bush couldn’t get away with it, even when he was speaking metaphorically (Mission Accomplished!) then neither can you jerks.

Johnson gets zero pass from me. He was one of those demanding Wilson’s head after he yelled “You Lie!”

Oh no. You’ve got the career path backwards. Congressmen never go on to be SNL cast members, but SNL cast members do go on to serve in the Senate.

Really? You've never used your hands to indicate that something went kablooey that hadn't actually exploded? You've never used a "cut throat" gesture when you weren't actually talking about actually cutting someone's throat? You've never used the "crazy" gesture to talk about someone you didn't think was actually clinically insane? You've never given the finger to someone you didn't actually want to have intercourse with? You've never made a gun out of your hand and pretended to shoot someone? You've never made the "playing the world's smallest violin" gesture?
You do have hands, don't you?

What a dope! What really happened is he said something so outrageous and stooopid that his staff had to scramble to spin it to ‘correction’ and they did a very poor job of that ... basically because when someone says something sooooo stoooopid there is no ‘correction’ available.

So he’s just anti-US military then. Still doesn’t speak well of him.

He meant every word and now that he was caught making an outrageous statement, is pretending he meant something different. I saw the video and he is kind of nutty.

just to interject some facts...
the topic of the hearing was the relocation of the 3rd Marine Division from Okinawa to Guam.
We are going to build a brand new Marine base from scratch on that little Island (adding about 15% to the total population). The cost of the new base is north of $10 Billion.
