I am posting this to see what you all think of something that has been going around in my head for several weeks now. I believe that Obama wants the Republicans to win the House and/or the Senate in 2010. I came to this conclusion after watching him struggle for so long with a democratic majority in both houses to pass his agenda. Face it - with that many dems in both houses, they should have passed much of his agenda long ago with little to no trouble.
That leads me to my theory. He wants the Republicans to win in 2010 so he has someone to demonize in 2012. He can shun actual governance (OK - he basically has already) and go into full campaign mode against his enemies in Congress for 2 solid years. The media will be willing accomplices for him.
I also believe that is why he set up the "benefits" of health care to start after the next presidential election, as he believes he can convince the country it is a good thing by then - especially if he can demonize Republicans for 2 years. Cap and Trade legislation is set up the same way - takes effect after 2012.
What do you think? Is this just conspiracy thinking at its worst, or is it a viable theory?
I hope you are right because the GOP House can DEFUND ObamaCare immediately. I think the raids in MI mean they will try to “win” in 2010.
I don’t think cares what happens this November...
I seriously doubt Obama wants the Republicans to win. He’s already running against Republicans and they do not have any real power. The GOP can stop him in his tracks and I’m sure he doesn’t want that. They stop the health care takeover, too, until 2012 and a GOP President.
Uh...er...no way. Sorry.

It’s possible. But blaming your political opponents for your own failures is as old as politics. Plus it will only work if Obama doesn’t stand in the way by vetoing any legislature designed to help.
You are not the only ones thinking this
House Dems have been thinking this for a while
If he has an all Democrat Congress, and there are no signs of improvement, he loses.
I’m not sure about this. If he wanted the GOP to win, I don’t think he would have restored the taxpayer dollars to ACORN to go out an recruit “voters” for the commie ‘RATS.
If the GOP gains control of Congress, he will become virtually ineffective. His laziness has allowed Pelosi and Reid to write any legislation they wanted and he has signed it. With GOP control, he will be forced to submit his own bills, and that is something he has shown no willingness to do for over a year now.
He’s a committed leftist, and doesn’t care what happens in Nov. 2010. He will see himself as a latter-day Harry Truman if Republicans win Congress, and will campaign against the “do-nothing” Republican congress when he runs for re-election in 2012.
He’s had lots of trouble with a Democrat congress. If he had a Republican congress to use as a foil, he might win re-election campaigning against the gridlock that we would see if Republicans win congress.
If we elect a veto-proof Congress, then we can just repeal Obamacare and, in 2013, President Palin can eliminate the Departments of Energy, Education, and Agriculture. Then, she can eliminate all Social Security and Medi-Care benefits for baby-boomers born between 1946 and 1964, mainly because they’ve already lived self-centered privileged lives and deserve tough times for once in their miserable lives (only exceptions are soldiers and former soldiers, cops, firemen, and nurses).
“It’s da bees and da spiders agin’ Mister President...!!”
I agree with you that this was by design. For a 40+ something guy with little real political experience, he sure is shrewd. He is getting coaching from somebody or some body of people.
I believe that Obama wants the Republicans to win the House and/or the Senate in 2010.
I doubt that he wants the Republicans to win. I would suggest that he has been coached on how to handle the situation should they win. His political strategies for the next several months will probably be made with the assumption that the Republicans will at least control the house.
Consider how the economy roared after the 1994 Republican takeover of congress. This helped Clinton win a 2nd term. Same thing can happen for brack obama.
Unfortunately, not matter what happens in November, we won’t be able to overturn Obama care. Any legislation to overturn this republic killing law(s) will require a super majority in the senate to get it past Obama’s veto. We can’t win enough seats in November, only 1/3 of the senate is up for re-election.
Incorrect. John Boehner (Ohio) and minority House leader said if the GOP wins the House - he will DEFUND it. if there is no money - there is nothing Obama and the Senate can do.
If they can take your social security money and spend it on other things what would make anybody believe they won’t do it with the health care money! It’s not about health care!
Barry would never want the Republicans to win
ITA with this assertion. No matter what happens, B.O. and the state-run media will use any excuse they have to paint themselves as the heroes.
Another way around that - special prosecutors. The GOP House DEFUNDS ObamaCare and starts investigations. Lots of investigations.
