Quiet words from Interior Secretary Ken Salazar on 3/5, directly indicated a new three-year ban, at least in offshore oil drilling leases. Pure facts dictate this move will kill any American initiative to produce all of its oil independently. More than 2/3 of the American public supports such a move per a Rasmussen poll. It is unknown why the Obama Administration would make such a virulent move, and not allow America to become more oil-independent in a time of major global political upheaval

Increase the cost of oil = increase cost of living = everything costs more = blame “evil” corporations = government takeover = goodbye freedom.
This is a pay-off to the Saudis et al. who helped finance his election. Jug Ears wants to see billions in petrodollars go to the Islamo facists. Jug Ears probably promised it to the Saudi king when he bowed down to him.
No one would be more unhappy than Jug Ears to see this country energy independent.

Wealth does not arise from service economies. We have to extract, produce, or utilize raw materials nad produce finished goods to create wealth. All else is just the inevitable decline which comes with scrubbing each other's toilets.
People keep writing stuff like that as if this administration gives a shit about that.
Ya know what’s funny, I just watched a report where Florida farmers are throwing away strawberries becasue they can’t afford to pick them and people (looks like the Obama crowd) are furious.
At the same time I wonder where the reports and anger is around not getting the oil that is right off the shore in our own backyard. It’s worth alot more than a few strawberries.

My husband and I own and operate a small contract manufacturing plant. One of our products is used in offshore oil exploration, and we cannot produce them fast enough. The company for which we produce them has doubled its basic order 4 times in the last year.
Who are the ultimate customers? Mostly the Chinese and the Russians. We are prohibited from drilling and they are drilling everywhere.
Very short sighted on the part of our government.
