Those threatening members of congress are not patriots

The proper terms to describe those misguided few who are now threatening members of the U.S. House are “cowards” and “terrorists”.

"We've had some very serious incidents that have occurred in the last 48 to 72 hours," House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, said during a press conference on Wednesday. A spokesman for Representative Russ Carnahan told politico.com that a coffin was left in front of the congressman's home in St. Louis. Additional incidents have included threatening phone calls, vandalism of offices and threatening profanity-laced voice mails.

These are not patriots exercising their right to free speech. These are cowards terrorizing and bullying from the safety of anonymity those who, like it or not, have been entrusted as our representatives by the people of their respective Congressional Districts.

I despise the behavior of this current Congress. I believe in passing health care reform legislation this Congress has violated all of its duties and has spat upon the Constitution. I have no use for any of the people who voted for and passed “Obamacare.” However, they have been elected by the people. They are the leaders the people have chosen.

These threats, and profane voice mails, vandalizing offices, are not the acts of patriotic resistance nor are they acts of rebellion. They are acts of stupidity. They are crimes. It is a crime to threaten a member of Congress for performing the duties of their office no matter how much you might disagree with the decisions, politics or ideology of members of Congress.

Wouldn’t put it past a left wing nut job to have been behind the calls, or a dem operative. After all most of us couldn’t get through their FULL voice mails to leave a message.

The founders did not set up a democracy (mob rule) Unfortunately that's what we have today. 0, Pelosi, and Reid wipe their a$$e$ on the constitution every day, so recourse to the election booth is not really all that useful, since they acknowledge no restraints of any sort on government. Tyrants elected by majority are still tyrants.

That is correct. They are NOT Patriots; they are Obama’s minions running a false flag operation to try to discredit the Patriot movement.

We need photos and videos of those who show up at our gatherings with signs and shouts promoting violence or racism, so we can later identify them and show what they really are.

As for those of us who refer to “watering the tree of liberty”, that is not so much a call to violence as a call to excise a cancer before it kills us.

I would tell these fools to look at the radicals and thugs within this Administration and this Congress before looking elsewhere. In fact, how did any of these thugs get security clearances???

During the run-up to the American Revolution, patriots and Sons of Liberty hounded governors, tax collectors, opposition newspaper editors and publishers and other colonial officials so much that many went into hiding rather than perform their duties. In Boston the Royal Governor and most of the Tax Commissioners beat feet to Castle William on one of Boston Harbor's many islands in order to put three miles of blue water between themselves and Boston's Sons of Liberty.

Holding officials feet to the fire is as American as apple pie and we should relearn the lesson ASAP.

I have been thinking that it’s pretty unpatriotic that Americans haven’t stormed DC.

But that’s just me. I actually believe we should be free from the force and coercion of other men.

I know, how outdated, and extreme!

When half of the country is on the dole and pay no taxes, elections are meaningless. They will keep voting themselves more welfare at the expense of the productive class. We will end up with a few super rich elite, who can manipulate the judicial system with money, afford any penalty put upon things that the elite don't want the populace to have. (permits, licenses, fees, punitive taxes). When all else fails politicians will just keep lying to get elected. Obama ran as a moderate to trick enough white people to vote for him, the media went along for the ride and would do so again. You can vote all you want, it wont change a thing. Were on downward spiral. We are a nation divided into mainly two diametrically opposed viewpoints. The only solution I can fathom is the freedom loving/conservative part of the country break off from the rest, write a new constitution with said right so incredibly spelled out that there can be no legal loopholes. Judges will be elected so that they will have accountability. Unfortunately none of this will happen, we will just muddle through as usual.

That's exactly right. Even if things quieten down over healthcare, Pelosi has already signaled that this is how they intend to shove other things down our throats. There is no feigning cooperation now. They have the propaganda machine working for their side and their attitude has changed to one of the arrogance of having absolute control.

I keep telling the wife that as pissed off as I am, for sure there are those out there that are even more pissed off about this and have the training and/or demeanor to show how serious they are. They are the ones that aren't talking about it or doing high school pranks like tossing bricks through windows.

Right or wrong, it's coming, bank on it.

It seems that any form of disagreement with the annoited elite is now "cowardice" or "terrorism". This is as bad as the constant use/misuse of the race card.

Fundamentally, if our experiment in self rule is to succeed, we must be a nation of honorable and honest people with the good will to make the system work.

In other words we must be a people who fears God, and whose roots dive deeply into Judeo-Christian morality.

It is impossible to write enough laws that are tight enough to corral evil.
