John Winder at Cypress Times has a sobering piece on the contents of our new health (s)care monstrosity:
President Obama and his legion, Pelosi, Reid, Stupak, et al, have said basically that once the American people get to know whats in the healthcare legislation, theyll actually like it. We all know how very important it is to the President and Speaker Pelosi that the American people be happy.
A new 3.8 percent tax will be levied on interest, dividends, capital gains and other investment income for individuals making more than $200,000 a year and couples making more than $250,000.
The Medicare payroll tax will increase by 0.9 percentage point to 2.35 percent on wages above $200,000 for individuals and $250,000 for married couples filing jointly.
Those last two taxes are important, as they target only the eeevil rich. Its Obamas way of redistributing wealth and, as he once said when lying to Joe the Plumber, punishing success. As with all Marxist progressive tax schemes, it will incentivize people from achieving financial wealth because they will end up being punished for it. The result is a nation where people strive for mediocrity, because mediocrity is safe. The more Americans who stay mediocre, the less money they earn. The less money they earn, the more likely they end up at what the federal government deems as the poverty level. The more Americans at the poverty level, the more they end up addicted dependentsand Democrat votersof the welfare state. Everyone got that?
60% of new enrollees in health care programs will be fully subsidized by you.
Which means the remaining 40% will have taxes siphoned out of their income to cover them, i.e., redistribution of wealth. Its the Marxist-socialist Democrats wet dream. The majority of Americans will be permanent bloc of

But Charlie Rangle (sp?) says America KNEW it was voting for socialism when they elected Obama......
Tyranny
PLEASE could we start action to demand a constitutional amendment the the government CAN NOT make ANY medical decisions for American citizens?
It wouldn’t be that hard. I bet 90% of Americans would support it and certainly we could get 2/3 states to ratify.
“Here’s Your Change: Taxes, Fines, Taxes, Penalties, Taxes, Jail, Taxes, ...”
He left out “Immense subsidies to Insurance Corporations”.
One difference: The people who elect to curtail their incomes to below $250K will remain anti-socialism, will vote conservative. and wait until the day when these laws are repealed.
Heaven help me if one of my Gen-Y, Obamabot co-workers say anything to me about this bill...
Their hippie BS is tolerable when it is just words. Now They are in my life and will sink the insurance my wife and I have worked hard to get.
Now is the time to raise the number of dependents on your tax withholding form, do not allow the Government to use your money, have them ask for it.
Some States are holding on to your tax refunds, and I am more than sure they are not paying you any interest.
Some people are still of the mindset that when they get a refund, it is something the Government gave them.
WTF?!
“Here’s Your Change: Taxes, Fines, Taxes, Penalties, Taxes, Jail, Taxes, ...”
Jail....I can’t wait to see if they enforce this. They can’t seem to enforce immigration laws...not ‘humane’, too many aliens to enforce the law.....but we’re talking USA citizens, so maybe they will.
The $200,000/$250,000 trigger points are not indexed, so in a few years, many more people will have incomes above those trigger points.
Surprise!
To sum it up, we sheeple are being ‘given’ health care by a lying Congress and a president who smokes, who freely admit they haven’t read it, committee members that don’t understand it administered by treasury chief who is a tax cheat and paid for by a bankrupt nation....
Is that right? Haven't heard that one before - that's huge!
A Few Questions About The Health Insurance Bill
March 18, 2010
Question 4. Is the bill going to stop insurance companies from denying coverage to those with previously existing medical conditions?
No, not right away and maybe not at all.
The bill allows insurance companies to keep denying coverage to sick children like they do presently for 6 months after enactment. The bill also gives the insurance companies an additional 4 years of denying adults coverage or dropping them due to previous conditions before they have to stop that immoral practice. Once the regulations take effect, insurance companies will face a paltry $100/day fine if they violate the rule. With fines that low it is quite likely insurance companies will choose to pay the fines as opposed to the more expensive medical care they should provide. It only makes sense for them to do so. After all, they aren’t in the healthcare business. Insurance companies are in the profit business. If given a choice between increasing their profits or not, is it reasonable or prudent to expect the insurance companies to lower their profits and cover those who need expensive treatments out of the goodness of their hearts?
plus i love how the healthcare subsidy covers families who make up to $88,000 dollars!!! poor as dirt huh?
Not so fast there Johnny Morose, I believe in the American spirit the right ideals will prevail, the sleeping giant of conservative principles has been stirred up and will move properly to correct the mess caused by the appeasing repubicans and the Marxist in chief...
He was right. I believe most of those who voted for Obama WERE voting for socialism. I’ve had people in my family actually say “What’s wrong wit socialism?” and they admitted they knew that’s what they were voting for.
We’re up against a lot more than just democrats in congress, folks.
