I could not let what happened yesterday go by without commenting on it. So I wrote an article I titled Flying My Flag at Half Mast.
Now, I am going back to the river to see if I can catch the California Brown Trout that got away from me last week.

My U.S. flag will be flying upside down.
Good one. We still need to get together for a good BBQ.
I stopped flying mine on Jan 21 2009.
It will stay that way until Liberation.
I saw it. My comment is that it should be upside down.
I was once a cadet at the AF Academy (’73, except I left in ‘71). I spent a lot of time hanging with the enlisted guys (probably that was my problem), and there was this one guy who used to work around the Chapel, and he would answer tourist questions. He was going to write a book with all his experiences, although I never saw it. One day a lady asked him, “Why is the flag at half mast.” He said, “I’m sorry, its not at half mast.” She said, “Well its half way down the pole.” He replied, “In the Navy its half mast. In the Air Force, its half staff.” She said, “Thats interesting. I have a grandson in the Army. Whats it called in the Army?” He replied, “Half stick.”
A fishing trip sounds good also.
I don’t have a flag outside, but I’m wearing solid black all week, in mourning for my once-great nation. I did the same thing the week Zero was elected.
You fly fish? I will on the Feather, just below the area where the Lake Orovilles overflow goes into the Feather.
Never had the pleasure of fly fishing (though I have a fly rod - I use it for trolling at Eagle Lake).
Well, I am not the greatest Fly Fisher, but I could help you get the idea of it and get you started on the right path. Maybe we should get together and give it a try.
My back yard is good sized enough to give a person room to practice casting. Like I said, we need to get together for a good BBQ.
Where do I find one. I could fly it below Old Glory and my Christian Flags.
If I have the room. My flag is up 25 ft, but I am not sure that is enough room above my roof for another flag to properly fly.
Besides, what is the protocol for the number of flags allowed on one pole? Any one know?
Sounds like a plan - though, I’m thinking I should wear heavy protective clothing when I attempt to use the fly rod - hooks in the neck are painful I understand.
LOL, Yes they are, but if you have ever tried using a whip you will find that hitting yourself is not nearly as easy as you think.
I started flying the Gadsden Flag that day and will fly it while 0bama occupies the White House. The Stars and Stripes with 13 stars flies only on Memorial Day.
I have a Gonzales Flag ready, because eventually the Socialist Democrats will realize that they need a disarmed population to achieve their goals.
Ah, well, but you don’t know me then. If it can be done, I’ll do it.
i just put out my new yellow DONT TREAD ON ME gadsden flag.
I have had my Gadsden flag flying all weekend.
Also, Today marks the 245 anniversary of the passing of The Stamp Act. It was repealed one year later, however the spark of the American Revolution was ignited. In this most timely hour, let us learn from our history, let us learn from the ways of the Sons of Liberty, let us be heartened by their example.
