Cartoon Network Rates Higher Than CNN, MSNBC
All American Blogger ^ | 3-18-10 | Duane Lester

Glenn Reynolds says it's because they have more believable characters.

Don Surber says it's the credibility gap:

USA is No. 1, Fox News No. 2, TBS No. 3, TNT No. 4 and the History Channel No. 5.

At No. 26 is MSNBC and CNN is No. 32.

Over at 13th place, the Cartoon Network is beating both of them.

I could see Bugs Bunny working for MSNBC.

Now hold on. Before you get yourself all worked up, consider this. When I was a big time D&D nut, I used to argue that Bugs was Chaotic Evil.

Yeah, I'm that kind of geek.

But think about it: when does Bugs ever help anyone? He delights in the misfortunes of others, usually via schemes or traps he created.

The guy is evil.

I'm not the only one who think this.

And it's that evil that would allow him to work with Bathtub Boy and sleep at night.

Daffy can go work at CNN (no offense Erick.)

And Fox?

Come on, is there any question?

Bugs represents enlightened self-interest and rationality.

Did you ever see Bugs where he and Daffy mistakenly went to the middle east and found the buried treasure? Bugs was helping them both to get to Pebble Beach!

He also tried to get Daffy to release his attachment to the wealth, knowing the great harm it would cause him. But did Daffy listen? NO!

Robot Chicken is far more entertaining than anything MSNBC could offer.

Disagree. Bugs only gets involved when others come after him (Fudd, Sam, Daffy, Taz).

Then he takes them to the woodshed.

Media Schadenfreude and Media Shenanigans PING

That’s okay, Time-Lies-Warner-Turner owns Cartoon Network. They still see the revenue and have turned off the public to any concern over the constitutional crisis we have going on.

Bugs Bunny never starts fights. He only attacks or harms those who harm him or attempt to harm him. BUT, he is ready, willing and able to FINISH fights that others have started.

He is NOT evil.

He is an Old-Style American Patriot.

It is my opinion that only a person with “progressive” tendencies could POSSIBLY think Bugs Bunny is evil.

Would love to see Olbermann and Taz go head to head one night and Killer could read the news over on C.N.N. which would be entertaining.

I recall one cartoon where Bugs is trying to get a little penguin home. Bugs goes through all sorts of horrors to get the little guy back to the South Pole (and at the end finds out he was born at the Hoboken NJ Zoo).

Generally the cartoons revolve around Bugs minding his own business when somebody decides to mess with him.

I dunno - what makes one cartoon network more popular than another?

"Hassan CHOP!" I'm a fan of Cartoon Network's Adult Swim offerings - not sure they even air the Warner Bros. cartoons anymore, which is a shame.
