Does anybody remember John Q, a 2002 melodrama that starred Denzel Washington as a loving father driven mad by his insurance companys refusal to pay for his sons heart transplant? Faced with his sons imminent death, Denzel seizes his only option: taking the hospital emergency room hostage until doctors agree to perform the operation.
The movie portrays Denzel sympathetically as the victim of greedy insurance companies and openly pleads for national health insurance. But what happens when its the government whos refusing your son or mother or wife the heart transplant? What happens when its the friendly Congressman in your local diner whose vote resulted in the health care rationing thats killing someone you love? What do you do when you see your Senator at the State Fair and know that his vote put your father in his coffin? What then?

You and your patient kin will be shot dead and thrown into the dumps like swine carcasses.
What else do you expect? Benevolence from government? LOL!
House had a show wherein a crazed person took hostages at that hospital as well if memory serves me right.
Someone could go ‘Man on Fire’ on their pompous asses.
What do you do when its the government weho wants to kill your Mom because she is a certain age ???
Hollywood is run by the kind of people who believed everything their Leftie college professors told them, and, unlike most adults, still believe it.
What was that movie where 30 was old ???
The Runner or something ???
Logan’s Run.
At 30, they had to go to Carousel.
Logans Run......
You would be wise to establish your own “health care savings account” to fly yourself or your loved ones off shore for treatment denied by the death panel.
Yes thats the one...
Thanks...
All of my children are 30 and older...
I think that the Government does not refuse the treatment, nor did the insurance company refuse Denzel, they simply refused to pay for it. We are welcome to pay for anything that we think is important enough to cover. Yes, including if that means we pay for the rest of our lives. Guess that new car is a lot more important to most folks than the boy is.
Thanks...
One thing I can guarantee is, once the government takes over health care, such movies will disappear.
It’s like, how many movies have you seen where the hero is in danger of losing his land to to the evil banker?
Compare that to the number of movies you have ever seen where the hero is in danger of losing his land to the taxman. That would be zero.
Welcome.
We have it on dvd.
It’s very good for such an old movie.
Simple...the MSM will not report about gov healthcare, Hollywood will not write scripts about it.
Until a Pres is a Republican, then he will be forced to increase funding.....with this kind of propaganda.
It’s a leading question. Pass the bill and find out.
Oh dude.... seriously good movie! I love revenge movies....think I will pull out the dvd, thanks!
