If the Democrats succeed in passing ObamaCare next week, they could indeed usher in a new era - but not the one they want.
The conventional wisdom (which President Obama and I apparently share) is that any entitlement bill, no matter how bad, will remain on the books once it's passed.
But we've never had an entitlement bill opposed by four-fifths of the electorate, rammed through on a partisan vote that requires a highly dubious parliamentary maneuver. And one that will add trillions to the public sector deficits at a time when people are already worried about government spending.
So what if it passed, and the Democrats hemorrhaged seats next November - and the bill were subsequently repealed? This would indeed be the dawn of a new era, and one with profound implications for subsequent entitlement reform.
This is a long shot and, like 81% of the public, I fervently hope ObamaCare either fades away or goes down to defeat. But if it passes, maybe the truly appalling dimensions of this mistake will jolt us into true systemic reforms.

This is the entitlement bill that helps so few and hurts so many.
States are finally rising up and demanding their constitutional rights back. The Federal bureaucracy has grown too much and disproportionately favors the left. It’s time to return Washington’s role to that of ‘gentlemen farmers’ or term-limited ‘representatives’ instead of the money-driven, special interest systems we now have. The left wields far too much power and to the point where minority anything now has absolute say and often control over the majority. This must be righted. It’s simply wrong to grant rights to special interests at the exclusion of those in the majority whether it be religious, social, ethnic, political, etc. It’s time for today’s politicians to fold up their tents and go home.
It will certainly jolt us into bankruptcy.
That's the plan, though. Isn't it?
If the gop wins big in November, they should shutdown the government until obamacare is repealed. They can say they have a mandate from the people to overturn socialized medicine, and nothing leaves congress until the President’s deplorable nonsense is repealed.
The reality it will jolt me to is that This Nation will no longer be the Nation Of the People, By the People and For the Peaople.
We will have become a nation run by the Government for the benefit of the Government and it’s elitist faux intellectual, liberal professional lawyer politicians.
Kill the bill and the next person to even talks about a new healthcare bill, needs to have thumbs removed.
This is what the Dhimmis cannot grasp. They falsely assume people will love, but people will hate it from day one -- actually before day one.
The last health care bill that people hated, catastrophic health care, was repealed the very next year. Indeed, the public's loathing of this bill is going to have tremendous consequences. It could, if we all remain vigilant, kill progressivism forever as a significnat force.
Probably not, since most of the population now lives in vast Urban areas, has been indoctrinated by Public Schools and now looks to Government to take care of them in regards to food, water, shelter, transportation and income.
If POTUS Obama gets his Obamacare health bill passed, he will have succeeded in huge part in moving much closer to his real goal, destroying the American medical system, destroying the American economy, worsening unemployment, bankrupting the nation, establishing a socialist/facist state that controls the lives of all Americans. I must admit, Rush Limbaugh had this guy wired from the gitgo and, so did I.
And we can hope the anger will sweep out the RINOS.

Code Red - House Target List on Health Care
The National Republican Congressional Committee has published a target list on health care. In addition to continuing to contact the five Tennessee Democrat Congressmen, you can go http://www.votervoice.net/link/clickthrough/ext/94697.aspx to contact some of these targets. Much of the talk following Obamas announcement has focused on how to defeat this second bill through reconciliation, but that is misleading because the first step to defeating Obamacare is not by concentrating on defeating the fixer bill but by defeating the Senate bill in the House when it goes to the floor for an up-or-down vote on Thursday, March 18th.
