It is the communications, stupid! Carlos Slim is the world “fattest cat” with personal wealth of 53.5 billion dollars. He made the biggest chunk of his money in communication technologies business. Slim’s Telmex has the control of 90% of the Mexican land-line telephone market. He invested in communications, information technologies and media.
It is not the evil oil companies that make the biggest profits. It is not the evil health insurance companies either. On top of most profitable industries are the Network and other communications equipment industry (20.4% profits as % of revenue –think Cisco) and the Internet Services and Retailing (19.4% profit – think Google and E-Bay).
Isn’t it amazing that no politician is daring to talk about the wild profits that the communication industries are making?.......The politicians seem to be in symbiosis with the communication industry. The interaction is mutual and bipartisan (Remember how Gore “invented” the Internet, Bush and Obama signed the Patriot Act).....So where did Carlos Slim get his profitable vision of the future from? May be from his friend Alvin Toffler. His "Third Wave" of the development of the people will let them stay and work from home thanks to the information technologies....

Mexico is a third world basket case, yet this guy is the richest man in the world. Something reeks corruption...big time.
Socialism is great, for those in control. They rape their entire nations for their own personal gain.
This is why the commie Dems need socialized medicine, and socialized energy. Pelosi is rich, but it’s not enough. They want to join Carlos.
He is mingling with the NY Wall street crowd and the tobacco industry.
Unfortunately both Dems and Reps want their piece from the communication pie - What politician doesn’t like control?
