Yes we need more organ donors but this isn't the right way to go about it.

Reminds me of a story I read here a few weeks ago about the guy in England who had a heart attack and was allowed to die because some bureaucrat had placed a BLANK “Do Not Rescue” form in his medical records. Nice.

I have made a living will which prohibits the re-use of my organs. There is also a codicil which states that in the event my wishes are overridden by an intrusive, scurrilous State or Federal law - all organs are hereby infused with black magic hexes and anyone in possession of said organs will suffer bouts of Tourette’s syndrome manifesting karaoke outbursts of “I think I’m going out of my head*

A simple solution would be to continue the organ donation program as an “Opt In” basis however, grant those who have opted in to the program priority if they are sometime in need of a donor organ.

In other words, those that are willing to give an organ are granted preference if they are in need of an organ.

How about this: a law that says that Illinois State Senators are presumed annual donors to those less fortunate, and their bank accounts can be assessed up to 80% upon request by anyone having a smaller income. They may freely opt out by signing up at an opt-out list each year.

This bill shows you how much they own you.

New movie coming out called “Repo Men.” They harvest your artificial organs they have transplanted into you when you can’t make the payments.

TRI CARE FOR LIFE This from a google search:

This option would help reduce the costs of TFL, as well as costs for Medicare, by introducing minimum out-of pocket requirements for beneficiaries. Under this option, TFL would not cover any of the first $525 of an enrollee’s cost-sharing liabilities for calendar year 2011 and would limit coverage to 50 percent of the next $4,725 in Medicare cost sharing that the beneficiary incurred. (Because all further cost sharing would be covered by TFL, enrollees could not pay more than $2,888 in cost sharing in that year.) http://www.cbo.gov/ftpdocs/99xx/doc9925/12-18-HealthOptions.pdf

By Rick Maze - Staff writer, Oct 7, 2009

Tricare fee increases imposed last week by the Defense Department will be repealed by a provision of the compromise 2010 defense authorization bill unveiled Wednesday by House and Senate negotiators.

The fee increases were announced on Sept. 30 and took effect on Oct. 1, but the defense bill, HR 2647, includes a provision barring any fee increases until the start of fiscal 2011.

Retired Army Maj. Gen. Bill Matz, president of the National Association for Uniformed Services, said the announcement of fee increases was shocking considering that the Obama administration promised earlier this year to hold off on any new fee Tricare fee increases until fiscal 2011.

“President Obama and DoD assured NAUS and the entire military family earlier this year that there would rightly be no increases in any Tricare fees” in fiscal 2010, Matz said. “We took them at their word, and I can’t believe that a co-pay increase like this was allowed to go forward,” he added.

So I guess with government healthcare, since the government will foot the bill, and decide what is and is not in our best interest, virtually owning us and our bodies, they will have the right and AUTHORITY to harvest our parts whether we want them to or not.

I usually avoid posting on this because of what some horrid Troll said to me in a thread. I have first hand experience of what the Organ Trade did to my family member. I was refused despite my request to see the CAT scan of the family member. When we decided to “donate organs” the Donor place took my family member after the “retrieval” of his organs, fraudulently out of the hospital by forging documents as to who they were, took him to their “place”, scavenged the rest of his body, and then took him to the funeral home. We were informed by the director what had occurred (he had seen it too many times and was suspicious of the Donor Group, he later filed an affidavit of the fraud that occurred with the court). This group committed fraud, desecration, and weren’t satisfied with the “organs” that we donated. They went on to refuse to return the remains, sold them at a “profit”, which then they were “resold” for $125,000 of “product”. During this entire year of hell of dealing with them, they gave us essentially “the finger” as there were NO LAWS to prevent them from what they had been doing for YEARS. They had, by law, “unlimited immunity”. I took care of what I could through a new law in my state which I essentially wrote. They (the group) went public in disparaging me, which essentially ruined my life at the time. Any positive that I had felt about donating my immediate relatives organs, was blown apart by the “criminality” (IMHO) and fraud of this group.

I have seen this from the nasty, illegal, undercurrent of the “Body Part” trade. I have told my family, that this group will never, ever, have access to my remains. AFter all the stress they cause me and the ruination of my life and reputation, my organs aren’t much good anyway, but these “criminals” will have nothing of mine.

My worries about them after the retrieval of the organs and what they might do to my relative’s body, was well founded and unfortunately turned out to be true.
