A sharp-eyed viewer has noticed that when I was debating George Monbiot on TV yesterday and I mentioned that his cherished peer-reviewed science had been discredited by Climategate he bared his teeth like a cornered cur. Says my body language expert John Lish:
It was a quite aggressive and defensive gesture which was noticeable when he was attempting to dismiss you (talking about peer review). A definite body-language sign of being rattled. Hes definitely uncomfortable about whats occurring and others will have spotted that as well.
Monbiot isnt the only one. Consider the paranoid tone of this email from climate-fear-promoter Paul Ehrlich, during an exchange with fellow members at the National Academy of Scientists on how best to deal with the Denier threat: (Hat tip: Marc Morano)
Most of our colleagues dont seem to grasp that were not in a gentlepersons debate, were in a street fight against well-funded, merciless enemies who play by entirely different rules.
And consider this tragic response from the editor of the US magazine Skeptical Inquirer when faced with declining readership. Despite its name, the Skeptical Inquirer has tended to adopt a none-too-sceptical position on AGW. This has annoyed one or two readers who have been cancelling their subscriptions in disgust. The editor Kendrick Frazier seems to imagine that this is not a reflection on his editorial policy but on his readerships false consciousness as he shows in this robust editorial: (hat tip: Philip Thomas)
This is the third SI reader who has canceled his (its always a male) subscription over our climate change pieces in the current SI (not to mention the at least six who did so after our first round of articles several years ago). Boy, they dont want to hear anything they disagree with, do they.

Anger and demonization are human trait responses for those who are exposed and proven to be scammers and hoaxers. They are also human trait responses for criminals and zealots...
It is not their “science” but their religion.
Exactly what I was going to write...so it only makes sense that they are meeting the collapse of their religion with fear, panic and deranged hatred.
The last line of defense, when you have nothing more to say, is to simply get angry. I’m not talking about it because you made me mad.

Teeth-baring incident around 6:50
(Not quite as dramatic as James implies.)
You mean like an angry Juan McCain?
Speaking of Juan McCain; When Greta came on this evening and I saw that she had Juan as her guest right up front, I hit the remote button so hard I sprained my thumb!
And that goes for his numbskull daughter whenever I get a chance to tune HER out!
WHY would Sarah Palin campaign for that turncoat? Loyalty is fine up to a point; but geeez! You just have to KNOW that if Juan gets reelected to what will probably be his final hitch in the Senate, he’ll show his gratitude by turning on Sarah and stabbing her in the back! IMHO
That is a fact.
You’d think they’d be happy that the world is not going to be destroyed by AGW. I mean, that’s what they’re worried about, right? So if the science turns out to indicate that there is no significant AGW, that’s cause for celebration, right?
Right?
Unless, of course, they’re all stark raving insane and need some sort of absolute catastrophe to believe in, to support their addiction to ongoing, daily, seething hatred, anxiety and depression to justify their hypocritical and abusive lifestyles... nah, that can’t be true...
The progressive billionaires (soros, et al) were betting on carbon credits allowing them to take over the world.
Isn’t the first stage of grief denial? Glowbull Warming Theory is dead. Bury it. Find a new scam.
