Folks and Friends at Free Republic
I just wanted to inform you that one of the computers I have at home has COMPUTER ASSOCIATES' SECURITY CENTER installed on it as part of the package I have with my recent Internet and cable service provider -- CABLEVISION.
This is the CA SECURITY CENTER VERSION 4.0.0.205
Now, everytime I try to access FR on this computer, it blocks me with the following reason :
URL: http://www.freerepublic.com/perl/go-button For the following reason: based on the category Category: Hate
I have to override it by entering an administrative password to temporarily allow the FR site to go through my browser.
Out of curiosity, I tried going to the DEMOCRATIC UNDERGROUND site and lo and behold, the CA Parental Control software ALLOWED the site with no problems.
Just wanted you people to be aware of this double standard.
They are just going along with the school systems of promoting and training future communists.
They would be amiss if they allowed any conservative or constitutional content to be seen by minors!
Yep that little comment sure did set off a firestorm. I am still not sure why. I see a post was removed by the mods. It wasn’t for profanity was it?
I can't believe the over reaction.
Someone says she's seen profanity, and she gets attacked like by rabid pit bulls, and then the ones who attack her for saying that, then go on to admit that they too, have seen some profanity on FR themselves.
So they attacked her for saying what they agree with.
I will never understand how some people's minds work.
Actually he copied MY first post which was ADDRESSED to you. Whatisthetruth then replied to my post addressed to you.
Not it is not.
The first post is MINE but it is addressed to you.
Lol! I have explained it twice.
Which post was that?
Thank-you!
Never mind. I found it.
I don’t recall any profanity used as such at all on this thread.
Comment #8 “You will find curse words here.”

I guess I can't mention literacy again or my post will be deleted. LOL
You and me both. (And I'm a woman.) There were times I could've made a sailor blush with the language I used. Not often. Only when I was trying to scare someone off. I learned it at school (certainly not at home) as a survival tactic. Now, as a parent myself, I look back and cringe at some of the things I said. If you ever met me now, you would never guess... I try to be very careful as a parent, though I've slipped a few times.
I don't think I've ever typed profanity on an internet forum. I'm on your ping list, and I don't remember noticing you posting profanity. It probably wasn't very bad. But, it's good for us to keep ourselves in check, anyway.
Lol! We are all confused on this thread. :)
Oh I wonder what got deleted. Of course I haven’t been personally attacked at all in this thread. s/
My post was deleted. For the record there was no profanity in it. The profanity deniers are a little thin skinned. LOL
What amazes me is that those who attacked you the worst for that comment, then go on to admit that they have seen it too.
And your comment about seeing plenty of people use profanity is not inaccurate.
I’ve seen plenty use it as well, and I’ve also seen the vast majority of it deleted by the mods. There’s just not plenty left, which isn’t what you said either.
So, yes, plenty of people use profanity, and plenty of people hit the abuse button on it and the mods remove plenty of them.
Are we the profanity truthers? Lol!
