Folks and Friends at Free Republic
I just wanted to inform you that one of the computers I have at home has COMPUTER ASSOCIATES' SECURITY CENTER installed on it as part of the package I have with my recent Internet and cable service provider -- CABLEVISION.
This is the CA SECURITY CENTER VERSION 4.0.0.205
Now, everytime I try to access FR on this computer, it blocks me with the following reason :

I have to override it by entering an administrative password to temporarily allow the FR site to go through my browser.
Out of curiosity, I tried going to the DEMOCRATIC UNDERGROUND site and lo and behold, the CA Parental Control software ALLOWED the site with no problems.
Just wanted you people to be aware of this double standard.

I completely agree. Profanity is not tolerated at FR. It does however get missed sometimes and that was my only point. Someone said that we don’t have profanity on FR and that simply isn’t true.
No, we don't. Sheesh, more assumptions.
And it doesn't matter what one person considers a cuss word or not. The others are still considered profanity, even if you don't.
You used one of my posts as someone else’s. I said not true to her accusation that the place was just riddled with it like it was a strip club or something. Words that are commonly used on TV to me are no longer considered profanity to me. You have a different opinion.
You are an enabler and are dangerous to your sisters, quit trying to cover for her, she admitted her error which caused me to respond in kind, so let it be, you seem to be an instigator here.
I have no association with those people. My only point was to correct and incorrect statement that there is no profanity on FR. There is and it has been proven. I hate the DU and I love FR. There is no comparison. That doesn’t mean that we cant be truthful about the fact that some people here post profanity. Alot of it gets deleted by mods. Some of it gets missed. I even posted threads where curse words were included in the titles. Some have said that they don’t think they are curse words. I think the word a**, b****, god-d*** are curse words.

Actually his not true post was to my original comment that you can find profanity here. I posted the other comment after he said not true. But basically yes, he implied I was a liar and a troll.

Christianhomeschoolmommaof3 is right. She and metmom and others here have provided evidence of profanity. But, some of the posts are crude even when they don’t use profanity.
That doesn’t mean FR is a bad site. We all love this forum, but it is not intended for children. It SHOULD be blocked by parental controls. Even if there were no crude language used here, so many of the subjects are intended for a mature audience.
All that said, if FR is blocked, DU should be blocked, too. (For example, remember all of the vile things they posted about the Palin family?) And FR should not be labeled as a “hate” site.
Youtube is one of the WORST websites. It always amazes me how commentators criticize FR as “hateful”, but then they use Youtube, going as far as using it to host questions from the public for presidential debates. Yet, all over Youtube are the most vile, despicable remarks ever posted. I wonder if those parental controls block Youtube?
Have you asked the Moderators to remove them?

I didn’t admit to an error. I HAVE seen PLENTY of people post profanity on FR. I have reported PLENTY of people to the mods. You can still find profanity on FR as linked by metmom and myself.
YOUR error was that you CLAIMED to have said “not true” to my “plenty of people” post. In TRUTH, you posted “not true” to my post that said “you can find curse words here”.
Maybe we should ask Jim Robinson what words HE considers profanity.
