Mark Levin Versus The Pied Piper
Elective Decisions ^ | 02/21/10 | Chris Davis

Posted on 02/21/2010 6:22:31 PM PST by writer33

It isn’t easy to stand behind your principles. But when I find a set of principles inherently American that I recognize and can identify, I easily stand behind them. If I learned nothing else in the U.S. Army, I did learn that you must stand firm on your instincts when you know you’re right, and those principles dictate you’re right. I found those principles in conservatism, and I was introduced to them formally by Rush Hudson Limbaugh III.

At least not on the air. I’ll bet he and BOR do plenty of it when they are alone.

One of the reasons I wrote the piece is because of the flamewars on the other thread. I stand firm behind Levin, but enjoy the popcorn. LOL!

You and me both. Glenn’s begging gets on my last nerve sometimes. Please, please, please America, do this or that. I do enjoy some segments of Beck’s program, but, lately, haven’t had much interest in what he has to say. Especially, when he isn’t a true historian and steals other people’s words.

All right. How about this then? Please, please, please, Catsrus. Please read my piece. Please America. You have to do it.

LOL!

We must keep in mind our primary goal is to get libs out of elected offices, especially Obama and other far left radicals. Those people must be defeated not only at the national level but, also, at the local and state levels. We will never all agree on everything but we cannot let our focus stray. We must keep the voices of reason on the air and we must keep fighting national healthcare, cap and trade. Also, we should fight for school vouchers, defeat labor unions, deficit spending, and tax increases.

I completely agree with you 100%. I just support Mark Levin. I have most definitely not strayed from those sentiments upon which you so eloquently wrote.

I don’t understand why these conservative “leaders” can’t focus their fire on the enemy, instead of wasting their time attacking each other. Every single person who may emerge as a “leader” is going to be flawed in some way. They are going to fall short of being the perfect American conservative, but they still might each have something extraordinarily valuable to bring to the movement. Beck has his value, as does Levin, as does Coulter, as does Rush, as do most of them. I don’t agree with any of those people 100%, but I, as a conservative, have nothing to gain by tearing any of them down. If you have a disagreement, state the disagreement respectfully. Hurling insults at each other only serves the Left.

Believe me, I'm not letting Beck off the hook, either. I thought he was an idiot for talking trash about "birthers", for example. I don't think he's wrong to criticize the Republican Party, though, because it has gone liberal in a lot of ways. There are quite a few registered Republicans who are NOT liberals (in fact most Republican voters, I would guess) but unfortunately, a large number of Republican politicians who are. I think that is what he was getting at. That is a legitimate criticism, and if it lights a fire under the Republican politicians' butts, then we'll all be the better for it. However, when Beck attacks conservatives, I get annoyed with him, as I would with those who attack Beck.

i understand - but i’d take his criticism more seriously if it came from within - beck offers no alternative - and it seems he can't decide what party he aligns himself with

no one agrees with everything in any party - but the adults choose one and work to change it from within

The only real leverage voters have with a politician (other than tarring and feathering) is the threat of voting him out. That's it. Angry phone calls, nasty letters, raucous townhalls, and big marches don't do a thing if the politicians are not afraid of losing their offices. It is the same with the Republican Party. We can shout at them all we want, and close our eyes and wish real hard that they'll come around, but until we make a credible threat of throwing the bums out, they will not listen. The only way to make such a threat credible, is by actually carrying it through come election day. So, if Republicans continue to be liberal, we toss them. The only way to toss them is not vote for them, and since none of us wants to vote for the commie Dems, we end of voting third party, at least until we get a respectable Republican on the ticket.

I'm all for getting real conservatives into the party and taking over, but that will take quite a bit of time, whereas the voting method will make a point by the next election.

Outstanding piece. I had to hold my tongue at CPAC.
I have listened to Mark for almost 3 years. He is my hero.
The true voice of conservatism. The piper is for show just like his touring buddy BOR.

Glad your back.
PS Since you wrote this wonderful piece on my Hero. How about writing one about my team? You would be killing 2 birds with one stone since the great one is from Philly as well. ;)

Thanks for posting that link on the thread about the Pied Piper comments. I’m going to update that link on the site so that it comes here.

I hadn’t read that because I was probably on the road at the time. Generally, this is why I stay out of this arena, because who can state it better than El Rushbo and Mark Levin.

I’m like that generic brand of NyQuil at the grocery store that says, “compare active ingredients to NyQuil.” LOL!

So thank you, once again, for posting that link. It was good to read and only confirmed what I had been thinking. Once I’ve updated the site, I’m going to drink a bottle of Jack Daniels, burn down my house and fly a plane into the Democrat Party headquarters. So thanks a lot! LOL!

Here’s the true story ping. Lets continue to give the lightweights a few more feet of rope. I remember the crazy Ross Perot period. He had offices in our building in downtown San Jose. Talk about eyes glazed over robots.

Another “all hat no cattle” lightweight.

I like Beck, I record his show every weekday at 2pm so I can zip thought his silliness and the gold commercials.

I only listen to Rush on the radio, I don’t know much about Levin, I’ve seen him a couple of times on FNC and he is sharp.
