i understand - but i’d take his criticism more seriously if it came from within - beck offers no alternative - and it seems he can't decide what party he aligns himself with
no one agrees with everything in any party - but the adults choose one and work to change it from within

The only real leverage voters have with a politician (other than tarring and feathering) is the threat of voting him out. That's it. Angry phone calls, nasty letters, raucous townhalls, and big marches don't do a thing if the politicians are not afraid of losing their offices. It is the same with the Republican Party. We can shout at them all we want, and close our eyes and wish real hard that they'll come around, but until we make a credible threat of throwing the bums out, they will not listen. The only way to make such a threat credible, is by actually carrying it through come election day. So, if Republicans continue to be liberal, we toss them. The only way to toss them is not vote for them, and since none of us wants to vote for the commie Dems, we end of voting third party, at least until we get a respectable Republican on the ticket.
I'm all for getting real conservatives into the party and taking over, but that will take quite a bit of time, whereas the voting method will make a point by the next election.
