Lets say I had a television show and I asked a political candidate some questions regarding, lets say, about the other entrenched lifer candidates, local issues, state and federal issues, the Constitution, and then asked if he or she believed Babe Ruth was really black or if Barack Obama was really a United States citizen or if there was a 9/11 conspiracy.
Lets say an answer was given I didnt like. Would that alone disqualify me from holding public office?
I will admit, I did like some of the things Becks said over the last year on Fox News and previous years on radio, but he may have just shown us just how full of himself he really is.
Personally, Id like to see some new blood running Texas. Rick Perry straddled the bonehead fence when he started talking about secession, Kay Bailey Hutchinson appears to feel shes entitled to the governorship after many flaky years in the US Senate.
And while were at it, lets talk conspiracy.
Sarah Palin is now a Beck compadre at Fox News. Sarah Palin endorsed Rick Perry. Debra Medina was surging in the polls. Beck throws a beanball at Medina in an attempt to knock her out of the race. How ironic it would be that liberals could use a Glenn Beck audio clip to take out a Republican.
Ive already made my views (then doubts) about Beck known when I saw him pandering to black Republicans on a weekend show, complete with jungle-looking graphics, trying to come off as a potential savior who understands. Ive never bought his crying like a pussy, and Ive rejected every attempt hes made to make himself a 9/12, tea party grand poohbah.

I can’t find any video where she says she beleives such a thing.
But there is this, where she more rational than KBH and Charlie Perry together.

Well, considering Palin is also supporting amnesty queen McCain, perhaps. As for Bill Bennett, last I bothered listening to him was when he was swooning like a schoolgirl over Rudy and Mitt on his radio program during the 2008 nomination race.
You are pretending she said what she did not say. And then consequently ignoring her follow up interviews of which there have been many.
Look, Texas already filled our quota of electing a Kook Libertarian with some conservative ideas with Ron Paul.
A few other states need to take their turn.
Once you have put a gun in your mouth and pulled the trigger, there isn't much of a point to follow ups.
I’m sure that seems perfectly logical to those sniffing Charlie Mitt Perry’s panties.
In your definition, what is “Kook Libertarian” about Paul and what are his conservative ideas?
I’m just trying to see where you’re coming from. I gather you’re a drug warrior, but what else drives your rage?
If Ron Paul ran for gov in MI, that would be cool.
Just pointing out that Ms. Medina's candidacy is not as viable as Millard Fillmore's (nobody hates Fillmore anymore)
I see Ron Paul’s weakness in his Isolationist Policy concerning the war.
I see his strength in fiscal conservative toward government spending.
I listened to the interview on air when Beck had her on! Although his talk-over style made it hard at times to hear what she was saying, she did make it plain that she cannot rule out our government having a hand in the 911 attack destruction! Sorry, she’s Alex Jonesesque and not to be taken seriously. It is like a female Jesse Ventura ... and he didn’t exactly make Minnie soda look good.
It seems like you’re saying, “It could never happen to us.”
Why could it never happen here? On what are you basing that confidence?
It took Adolf Hitler less than 6 years to get the German people to the point where they could smell human flesh burning and accept it.
Why is America different?
It’s easy to say that neither communists nor Islamists really mean to do us any SERIOUS harm. “In America we don’t have SERIOUS Islamists or communists. They’re really all freedom-loving Americans just like all of us. We just have different opinions.”
The United States White House had Christmas ornaments of Mao Tsedung - the man who exterminated so many people in order to stifle freedom. Anita Dunn - media person for the White House and wife of Obama’s eligibility lawyer - said one of her favorite “political philosophers” is Mao Tsedung.
That’s about like having somebody hang photos of Hitler on the wall and say that Goebbels is their hero.
Why do we think that these people are harmless? Why is it such an extreme thing for people to say that the people who said they would have to kill 25 million Americans if they wouldn’t submit to brainwashing might actually be trying to do that?
They probably wouldn’t actually have very many people they’d have to kill. See, their “re-education camps” are the state-run media, and even the conservative talk show hosts will submit and say what they are told to say, as long as the right threats are used. Most people have been so numbed by the belief that American freedom is a given and can never be lost that they view anybody else who is slightly awake as being crazy and alarmist.
I don’t buy it. It takes ONE COMPLACENT GENERATION to kill America - just as it took six years to kill the soul of Germany.
You also missed my point. I said if they ever tried it, that they would never live to talk about it. That is not saying that it will never happen. But even I as a non betting man, see the odds of something like Germany happening over here as ridiculously small. American kids have been subject to 'reeducation' for almost a 100 years (it's progressives) but it would appear that it is coming to an end. Think on this. Zero might want to stop Home-Schooling, but what do you think would happen if he issued an Executive Order prohibiting it? I doubt if a single child would show up at a public school the next day. This is the Real America and why I came here: defiance. Freedom will not be lost until this defiant attitude is lost. It won't happen. It just won't. Look at Sarah Palin as an example. "They" have tried to destroy her, ridicule and embarrass her, yet she is now adored and loved like never before. America likes the "underdog" Which explains why zero became resident in the first place. But zero is now seen as a naked emperor and is mocked like no other President. As for your final argument: ------------- I dont buy it. It takes ONE COMPLACENT GENERATION to kill America - just as it took six years to kill the soul of Germany. ------------ This is what the progessives thought. It is what zero ran his whole campaign on. It didn't work, in fact it totally BACKFIRED. I really believe that the progressive era will die a very slow and painful death. Rabid dogs turn on themselves
Bob who?
I hope you’re right. And you probably are.
I guess what I’m reacting to is the thought that if a person shows that defiance by not toeing the “mainstream” line they will be history. It’s a form of self-censorship.
I have no idea whether Medina is a good candidate or not. But I don’t think it should mean political death to a person just because they acknowledge that the mainstream narrative isn’t 100% unimpeachable. I think it should be a given that the mainstream narrative isn’t 100% impeachable.
Until somebody knows what another person is basing their statements on, we don’t know whether they’re stupid, or just seeing clearly above the political or media fog.
The smartest people in the world know that they don’t know everything. They’re also a bit slower to throw rocks at others who don’t know everything.
Gee, then why do they run on the GOP ticket instead of the Libertarian ticket, I wonder?
I agree...they don't belong in the GOP.
Most of us conservatives are definitely for smaller government, liberty and freedom, but we balk at some of the other Libertarian planks, such as isolationism.
The Libertarians don't hold a patent on smaller government, liberty and freedom. They just think they do. To hear most Libertarians talk, you'd think they had invented those principles.
There are some good conservative candidates out there (unfortunately, not on the Texas gubernatorial ticket this year). We don't need to vote for moonbats while we're working to find better candidates.
I hope people like Ted Poe and John Culberson might consider running on the next go-round. But in the meantime, I am not voting for an unqualified Paulbot.
You got me!! I confess!! Please be kind.
But the short-lived (publicly)search for the Third Terrorist was terminated so openly, and the switch to Billy Bob Clinton openly and publicly proclaiming the assumed culpability of “white supremacist citizen militias” so sudden and perplexing. It remains obvious to me that McVeigh had no motivating connection to Clinton’s preferred source of his murderous supposed “anti-government” sentiments. Oh, well. History marches on, replete with conundrums.
