Time enough to head off to that Mission San Diego spot where they serve the GIGANTIC Margaritas? San Diego would have been another hour beyond where we went. But I have been to Old Town San Diego before and enjoyed Mexican food and giant margaritas there.
Today the weather was beautiful, 62 and sunny, and we went tidepooling at Dana Point and then explored Laguna Beach. Had a fun day, my daughter loved it, and that made Dad very happy. Although, we both are pretty wiped out and sore from climbing all over those rocks at Dana Point for an hour-and-a-half!

I used to work in Santa Ana. Go have a burger and fries at Dukes. I'm not sure where Dukes is. We're over by Fairhaven and Yorba. Is it somewhere on Tustin Ave.? We may get a burger on our way to the airport around lunchtime.
Last time we were out here, my daughter had an In-and-Out burger and loved it. Is Dukes better than an In-and-Out?

Okay, I just Googled Duke’s, and apparently there is one up by Prospect and Chapman, which is like three minutes from where we are staying. There’s also an In-N-Out Burger near there too.

That sounds about right, I remember it being around Chapman. It’s been years since I’ve been there. I always went there with my coworkers from First American Title in Santa Ana. Great fries.
I never was that impressed with In ‘n’ Out Burgers. They’re OK, but I never understood what all the fuss was about.

Today the weather was beautiful, 62 and sunny, and we went tidepooling at Dana Point and then explored Laguna Beach. With mask & snorkel? That's the way to do it. Also I sort of did that down in Culebra although most of it was really reef diving but a lot of it was in shallow tidepools. A true tidepooler (who has read Euell Gibbons) will carefully get sea urchins out of there, open them with a knife, and eat the eggs. Not as bad as it sounds. Sea urchin eggs are actually quite tasty. Really just another form of caviar and it is served in sushi restaurants as "uni."

Last time we were out here, my daughter had an In-and-Out burger and loved it. Is Dukes better than an In-and-Out?The BEST hamburgers are Tommy's in L.A.. Be sure it is one of the ORIGINAL Tommy's. FUn Fact: I was once eating at a FAKE Tommy's in L.A. when I looked across the street and spotted H.R. Haldeman walking down Wilshire.

Although, we both are pretty wiped out and sore from climbing all over those rocks at Dana Point for an hour-and-a-half! If you are ever a bit north of there, try skin diving in the Kelp beds off Malibu. I remember one August when I dived in those kelp beds EVERY DAY of that month. Spearfishing. LOTS of sea life in or near the kelp beds. I always saw sea otters up close. Also it was kewl to see sea lions swimming below the surface. Small sharks and big manta rays. Best of all was a whale that came close to shore. I swam within about 15 feet of it. We sort of stared at each other for about 5 minutes. Strange experience to look into the intelligent eye of a whale.

The BEST hamburgers are Tommy's in L.A..The best CHILI burgers are at Tommy's.
Best traditional double cheese burger is still In-N-Out. (Regular traditional burgers, too.)

Maybe Wee Willie's next career will be as a DUbble-naught spy. "Pitt. Will Pitt," I can hear him say, tuxedoed. . . . Here is aspiring DUbble-naught spy Will Pitt with a couple of his "Pitt girls":

frank, what can you tell us about the ex-CIA primitive Jeffersons Ghost? He sounds a little bit like a TomInTib type.

With the bald pate, Pitt (William Pitt...) reminds me more of Odd-Job, which ironically he seems to be continually trying to gain within the Democrat idioterati.
