Rifqa's isolation from people she loved was/is cruel and inhuman punishment, but is typical in this case. Few people understand what this girl has taken on and what happens to girls who leave Islam. There was a glimmer of good news yesterday fresh on the heels of the news that the Bary parents reneged on the dependency deal. Rifqa will be allowed to have limited (supervised) phone contact with the Lorenzes after the outrageous prohibition that was imposed upon her two months ago. Last week, Rifqa's parents - Mohamed and Aysha Bary - withdrew their consent to resolve the case. Yesterday, a magistrate allowed Rifqa a small freedom within the confines of soft sharia.

Rifqa ping
THANKS.
RIFQA PING . . . PRAYER AND FYI . . .
BTTT for Rifqa
Thanks for the ping!
This is an absolute outrage. The girl is 17 years old, and the court is acting like she’s 7, and like her parents are no different from the Amish instead members of a religion that regularly murders apostates - and that have threatened to kill their own daughter.
If Rifka had said everything the same way and been persucuted in the same way, but instead of being Christian, claimed to be a lesbian, she would have been long gone, her freedom protected by the court, AND won a huge lawsuit by now.
At the time of the next hearing there will be just over five months left until she turns 18 (August 10). In the meantime she is being held under the equivalent of house arrest, maybe under conditions similar to those of convicted juveniledelinquents (because for its purposes, that is what the state considers her to be).
Thank you very much for the update.
