Strange - Koosh Bullets

I'm a little hesitant to shoot toys at an intruder only to have them return fire with adult bullets. I'll stick with my .45, I think.

Lightfield has been selling these projectiles to law enforcement agencies and wildlife officials for years. Each round is filled with a soft projectile that resembles a koosh ball. They look like toys, because they're made by a Chinese toy factory. The best thing about them is that they aren't likely to kill someone even if they are fired at point blank range. They're so soft that they're almost incapable of penetrating the body.

Hmmmm. Is this a “soft” alternative to home defense? Or a “hard” alternative to paintball? :-)

I’m confused, what’s the point of shooting someone with a non-lethal projectile and how does that defend my family in the event of an assault by a criminal?

If made in China, it’s still full of lead.

I wonder if they produce enough recoil / gas pressure to operate the action? Or are these only for pumps and dbl barrels?

Bet they go ‘poof’ instead of boom cuz of lighter loads.

Go for the OOObuck. Not as many as OObuck but it will certainly hit a bit harder!

I can get OO buck at the local dept. store easy, I pick up a few boxes every time I go there since early in ‘08. I’ve got a goodly supply right now.

Here’s the deal. Shoot something like this at an intruder and leave them alive and they will turn around and SUE YOU AND WIN!

Even if they get some time, they WILL get out and could very well come back to get some payment from you and/or your family.

My advice, KILL THE SOB! Go to a range, practice, get real good. You want to have him dead before he hits the ground. (Courts frown on the Coup de Grace, you’ll go to prison).

I guess it would be an okay round for animal control or for the police to subdue a hyped-up perp. It sounds basically like a “kinder, gentler” version of the rubber bullet (or maybe the rock salt loads some of my grandfather’s neighbors used to load.) As a home defense round, though, no way.
