Darkwolf377: “No kidding—what’s with all the turning on Palin for being a decent person and supporting the guy who put her on the national map?”

I guess you just don’t understand the animosity that many of us have for Juan McPain, and you can bet the feeling is mutual. He epitomizes everything that is wrong with the Republican Party. So, when Sarah Palin enthusiastically supports him, it’s earth shattering. If she actually succeeds in getting him elected (she does have political capital, you know), McCain will be laughing in our faces for the next 6 years! You see, we’ve been there and done that before.

To be fair to Governor Palin, she may have foolishly promised to campaign for McPain. Perhaps we can agree to ignore her bad judgment this time? A lot of it depends on how she phrases her support. My guess is she’ll focus on the very few aspects where McPain is tolerable. However, she’s already said McJerk is the kind of leader we need in Washington, and we all know that’s BS.

I've been here since 2001 (I slightly changed my screenname because the one with an extra letter was clogged with unwanted pinglists), so I understand. But if we can forgive Ronald Reagan for his support for abortion at one time, his signing an amnesty bill (and choosing Rudy Giuliani, who some equally despise) later in his career, we certainly can forgive Palin for campaigning for the guy who helped her become a household word.

McCain has done some things I applaud as well. I prefer J.D. by a mile, but no, I don't hate McCain, and I don't use childish play on the names of former P.O.W.'s, either.
