Beck recently claimed that a state-wide recount in Florida in 2000, would have resulted in a Gore Victory.
i think theres been several media study on this. If Gore got what he wanted which was to recount specific counties. Bush still would’ve won. A full state recount however may have lead to Gore win
the full state recount was what the GOP wanted because they think it was unfair to recount only the DEM favored counties

I saw Beck say that, and thought: I must be getting senile, 'cause that's sure not the way I remember it. As I remember, there were lots of recounts, and they all showed Bush won, though by very slim margins.
So what is Beck up to? I'd guess he's trying to win over some Democrat viewers to watch his show. Like O'Reilly, he throws them a bone -- maybe they'll be sympathetic enough to hear the rest of his message?
After all, what does the truth matter if he can win some more viewers? < /sarc >

I heard that too. Obviously, his facts were wrongb but I think the broader point that was made was defending the constitution. He said the supreme court made the right call. I don’t think he was going left on us, I think he just got the information wrong.
You’re correct in that Beck said Gore wanted to cherry-pick certain precincts where he believed he could gain votes. However, Beck actually did say that had Gore recounted all of Florida that he’d have won.
I don’t know where Beck got his information, but he says he’ll correct any misinformation that he’s guilty of stating. I’ve asked him to report how he arrived at that conclusion and to correct it on air because it’s incorrect.
We’ll see what he says.
I saw Glenn’s “claim” on this...
he was attacking the left...not helping the claim that Bush stole the election..
I have given up trying to defend Beck on FR. There are far too many here who are willing to condemn him without listening or paying attention to what he says. Those on FR who are trying their best to destroy Beck’s reputation are too willing to take up the MSM’s stand. It’s embarrassing.
On the Sarah interview, I think he was trying to hard, frankly I think he was trying to have this award winning interview and blew it.
On this Scott thing, he was so behind the curve on it, he dropped the ball and fell back into shock-jock mode to laugh it off and that fell flat on it's face. Combine that with potential stress of security issues, and he is off his game.

Thats what I recall. The MSM looked at various recount scenerios, and all of them would have had GWB winning pretty handily, whereas ONE of them MIGHT have lead to a narrow Gore victory..
