Why do they have to work “Hip-Hop” into it?
And how bout that Harry Reid?
Clean, Articulate, Light-Skinned, and No Negro Dialect!

[snip]It also happens to be the same Harry Reid who declared that those who favored English as Americas official language were racist.
Reids latest display of brain-dead hypocrisy is reported, in part, at Yahoo.com:
WASHINGTON - The top Democrat in the U.S. Senate apologized on Saturday for comments he made about Barack Obamas race during the 2008 presidential bid and are quoted in a yet-to-be-released book about the campaign.
Reid, now an impassioned champion of amnesty for 20 million illegal aliens in America, once called illegal aliens free loaders and scam artists which he proposed to deal with in his Immigration Stabilization Act in the United States Senate in 1993.
That proposed legislation was introduced to the floor of the US Senate with the following press release, in part, issued by Reids office on August 5, 1993.
In response to increased terrorism and abuse of social programs by aliens, (I) today introduced the first and only comprehensive immigration reform bill in Congress. Currently, an alien living illegally in the United States often pays no taxes but receives unemployment, welfare, free medical care, and other federal benefits. Recent terrorist acts, including the World Trade Center bombing, have underscored the need to keep violent criminals out of the country.
Harry Reid: Not the sharpest knife in the drawer, but the senator from Nevada does have has a way with words!
Just a guess - maybe there are some black hip hop fans who identify with the Republican party? Does that bother you, on some level?
YEah. Because as long as they have to set themselves apart, use code language, (and “hip-hop” is a code name here for negro), or try to “appeal” or “relate” to “the brothas” with that kind of language, they are NEVER going to be fully accepted. This seems like Michael Steele sort of Republicanism - show what a “n” he is for street cred, but he just ends up looking like a doofus.
Who’s Allen West, anyway? I know I’ve heard of him.
No question about it!
If anyone thinks that liberals act like elitists only with respect to white conservatives, they are sadly mistaken.
If you have to be in the presence of liberals in unguarded, private moments, you may be shocked and stunned not only by racist attitudes that they routinely express but also by out-and-out racial epithets the equal of any that you’d hear in a redneck bar anywhere in the South.
They actually appear to think that supporting certain policy positions and legislation gives them an exemption from having to act with basic civility.
At least that has been my experience with libs, which is one reason why I despise them.
Anyone else encounter similar behavior on the left?
The Democrats invented left-wing "political correctness". When they get caught in one of their own PC snares, it should be embarrassing, but their sanctimony doesn't extend to their fellow travelers.
I love what this guy says! I really hope he wins his bid for election!
I don't understand. Accepted by whom? Electoral politics is about coalition building. Every campaign I have ever seen includes many ad hoc support groups, based on all sorts of criteria - professions, locality, religion, hobbies, etc. Last time I checked, we need every vote we can get to wrest power from the Democrat Party. I'll take Hip Hop votes all day.
show what a n he is for street cred, but he just ends up looking like a doofus.
Please point out specific passages that make Col West look like a doofus. (I'll save you time - there aren't any.)
Shame on you.
Our very own Honest C has been working hard for a long time supporting Col West's candidacy. I expect to see her on the thread.
Can't say that I do, Scan. But, my social life is in areas where political discussion is strongly discouraged; and I like it that way. I do admire folks who have the fortitude to have liberal friends.
The sad thing is that the research is a matter of two mouse clicks
One - to the source of this thread.
Two - on Col West’s name at the end of his article.
The term is not what you think it is; the sense of sarcasm is apparently lost on you; empty your hand if you want to communicate with me.
I am in a ‘mixed race’ marriage (my wife is creole). We have noticed over the years that it is only the ‘liberals’ with whom we come in contact who ever mention our differences. The conservatives we know (many of them) have never made even casual mention of it. The libs are always surprised at her very strong right of center politics, they think she must have been brain-washed (somebody actually said that). That is because libs see categories and conservatives see people.
