If a republican wins the Mass. senate seat, I'll eat my hat. I'd have to go out and buy one first as I don't own one now.

Both candidates get better than 70% of the vote from members of their respective parties, but Brown leads 65% to 21% among voters not affiliated with either of the major parties. Special elections are typically decided by who shows up to vote and it is clear from the data that Browns supporters are more enthusiastic. In fact, among those who are absolutely certain they will vote, Brown pulls to within two points of Coakley.
I think it would be grand if Brown won.

A cold day in H@11 before he ever gets elected in a state where the people vote to reelect Kerry, Bawney Fwank, and the other idiot dems.

That doesn't mean we shouldn't try.
Coakley is overconfident. Her supporters are disillusioned over Obama's policies and they're not going to turn out in freezing cold to vote for someone who'll just carry Reid's water.
Brown is targeting traditional blue-collar Dem voters as well. The Democrats are now the party of the ultra-rich elites and poor who want something for nothing. I don't think the middle-class is going to play this game any longer. Brown has a good chance of winning.

I’d love to see it, but then I’d like to see a unicorn too. This is Massachusetts, after all. They voted for McGovern (along with D.C.) in 1972.
To: bray
If it were warmer, I’d suggest some retired people or college-age folks to wander the streets as homeless people and wait to be enticed to register and vote, for a pack of cigarettes and liquor, ala James and Hannah.

In today’s debate Brown asked Coakley if OBL was taken into custody would he be given a civil court trial, like KSM. Great question.

“In fact, among those who are absolutely certain they will vote, Brown pulls to within two points of Coakley.”
Best tactic: all right-minded folks get down to their town halls and cast their votes early.
Dems are demoralized...traveling around the state, you might see more old Kerry bumper stickers than O stickers..and having an idiot like Gov. Deval Patrick, that reminds everyone of the peter-principled O, is icing on the “had enough” cake...
