I'd call it: THE THINGS THAT DON'T MATTER
When Obama wrote a book and said he was mentored as a youth by Frank, (Frank Marshall Davis) an avowed Communist, people said it didn't matter.
When it was discovered that his grandparents, were strong socialist, sent Obama's mother to a socialist school, introduced Frank Marshall Davis to young Obama, People said it didn't matter.
When people found out that he was enrolled as a Muslim child in school and his father and step father were both Muslims, people said it didn't matter.
When he wrote in another book he authored â??I will stand with them (Muslims) should the political winds shift in an ugly direction.â? people said it didn't matter..
When he admittedly, in his book, said he chose Marxist friends and professors in college, people said it didn't matter.
When he traveled to Pakistan , after college on an unknown national passport, people said it didn't matter..
When he sought the endorsement of the Marxist party in 1996 as he ran for the Illinois Senate, people said it doesn't matter.
When he sat in a Chicago Church for twenty years and listened to a preacher spew hatred for America and preach black liberation theology, people said it didn't matter.
When an independent Washington organization, that tracks senate voting records, gave him the distinctive title as the "most liberal senator", people said it didn't matter.
When the Palestinians in Gaza , set up a fund raising telethon to raise money for his election campaign, people said it didn't matter.
When his voting record supported gun control, people said it didn't matter.
When he refused to disclose who donated money to his election campaign, as other candidates had done, people said it didn't matter.
When he received endorsements from people like Louis Farrakhan and Mummar Kadaffi and Hugo Chavez, people said it didn't matter.
When it was pointed out that he was a total, newcomer and had absolutely no experience at anything except community organizing, people said it didn't matter.
When he chose friends and acquaintances such as Bill Ayers and Bernadine Dohrn who were revolutionary radicals, people said it didn't matter..
When his voting record in the Illinois senate and in the U.S. Senate came into question, people said it didn't matter.
When he refused to wear a flag, lapel pin and did so only after a public outcry, people said it didn't matter.
When people started treating him as a Messiah and children in schools were taught to sing his praises, people said it didn't matter.
When he stood with his hands over his groin area for the playing of the National Anthem and Pledge of Allegiance, people said it didn't matter.
When he surrounded himself in the White house with advisors who were pro gun control, pro abortion, pro homosexual marriage and wanting to curtail freedom of speech to silence the opposition people said it didn't matter.
When he aired his views on abortion, homosexuality and a host of other issues, people said it didn't matter.
When he said he favors sex education in Kindergarten, including homosexual indoctrination, people said it didn't matter.
When his background was either scrubbed or hidden and nothing could be found about him, people said it didn't matter.
When the place of his birth was called into question, and he refused to produce a birth certificate, people said it didn't matter.
When he had an association in Chicago with Tony Rezco, a man of questionable character, who is now in prison and had helped Obama to a sweet deal on the purchase of his home, people said it didn't matter.
When it became known that George Soros, a multi-billionaire Marxist, spent a ton of money to get him elected, people said it didn't matter.
When he started appointing czars that were radicals, revolutionaries, and even avowed Marxist/Communist, people said it didn't matter.
When he stood before the nation and told us that his intentions were to "fundamentally transform this nation" into something else, people said it didn't matter.
When it became known that he had trained ACORN workers in Chicago and served as an attorney for ACORN, people said it didn't matter.
When he appointed a cabinet members and several advisors who were tax cheats and socialist, people said it didn't matter.
When he appointed a science czar, John Holdren, who believes in forced abortions, mass sterilizations and seizing babies from teen mothers, people said it didn't matter.
When he appointed Cass Sunstein as regulatory czar and he believes in "Explicit Consent", harvesting human organs with out family consent, and to allow animals to be represented in court, while banning all hunting, people said it didn't matter..
When he appointed Kevin Jennings, a homosexual, and organizer of a group called gay, lesbian, straight, Education network, as safe school czar and it became known that he had a history of bad advice to teenagers, people said it didn't matter.
When he appointed Mark Lloyd as diversity czar and he believed in curtailing free speech, taking from one and giving to another to spread the wealth and admires Hugo Chavez, people said it didn't matter.
When Valerie Jarrett was selected as Obama's senior White House advisor and she is an avowed Socialist, people said it didn't matter.
When Anita Dunn, White House Communications director said Mao Tse Tung was her favorite philosopher and the person she turned to most for inspiration, people said it didn't matter.
When he appointed Carol Browner as global warming czar, and she is a well known socialist working on Cap and trade as the nations largest tax, people said it doesn't matter.
When he appointed Van Jones, an ex-con and avowed Communist as green energy czar, who since had to resign when this was made known, people said it didn't matter.
When Tom Daschle, Obama's pick for health and human services secretary could not be confirmed, because he was a tax cheat, people said it didn't matter.
When as president of the United States , he bowed to the King of Saudi Arabia , people said it didn't matter.
When he traveled around the world criticizing America and never once talking of her greatness, people said it didn't matter.
When his actions concerning the middle-east seemed to support the Palestinians over Israel , our long time friend, People said it doesn't matter.
When he took American tax dollars to resettle thousands of Palestinians from Gaza to the United States , people said it doesn't matter.
When he upset the Europeans by removing plans for a missile defense system against the Russians, People said it doesn't matter.
When he played politics in Afghanistan by not sending troops the Field Commanders said we had to have to win, people said it didn't matter.
When he started spending us into a debt that was so big we could not pay it off, people said it didn't matter.
When he took a huge spending bill under the guise of stimulus and used it to pay off organizations, unions and individuals that got him elected, people said it didn't matter.
When he took over insurance companies, car companies, banks, etc. people said it didn't matter.
When he took away student loans from the banks and put it through the government, people said it didn't matter.
When he designed plans to take over the health care system and put it under government control, people said it didn't matter.
When he set into motion a plan to take over the control of all energy in the United States through Cap and Trade, people said it didn't matter.
When he finally completed his transformation of America into a Socialist State , people finally woke up......... but it was too late.
Any one of these things, in and of themselves does not really matter. But.... when you add them up one by one you get a phenomenal score that points to the fact that our Obama is determined to make America over into a Marxist/Socialist society. All of the items in the preceding paragraphs have been put into place. All can be documented very easily. Before you disavow this, do an internet search. The last paragraph alone is not yet cast in stone. You and I will write that paragraph.. Will it read as above or will it be a more happy ending for most of America ? Personally, I like happy endings.
If you are an Obama Supporter, please do not be angry with me because I think your president is a socialist but there are too many facts supporting this. If you seek the truth you will be richer for it. Don't just belittle the opposition. Search for the truth. I did. Democrats, Republicans, Independents, Constitutionalist, Libertarians and what have you, we all need to pull together. We all must pull together or watch the demise of a society that we all love and cherish. If you are a religious person, pray for our nation.
Never before in the history of America have we been confronted with problems so huge that the very existence of our country is in jeopardy. Don't rely on most television news and what you read in the newspapers for the truth. Search the internet. Yes, there is a lot of bad information, lies and distortions there too but you are smart enough to spot the fallacies. Newspapers are a dying breed. They are currently seeking a bailout from the government. Do you really think they are about to print the truth? Obama praises all the television news networks except Fox who he has waged war against. There must be a reason... He does not call them down on any specifics, just a general battle against them. If they lie, he should call them out on it but he doesn't. Please, find the truth, it will set you free.
Our biggest enemy is not China , Russia , Iran ; no, our biggest enemy is a contingent of politicians in Washington DC .

The now obvious takeover of the American economy by a Socialist entity is complete. With the majority of the United States Senate voting in favor of a government takeover of our health care system sounds the death knell for American Capitalism and American freedom, and most specifically: American Health Care.
With the new Government Health Care hostile takeover, Americans will lose the ability to choose their own specific options for a plan that fits their budget, and instead will be told by the government what is acceptable for health care coverage by any insurance policy.

If your employer is providing this policy through shared payments through your company’s payroll, your employer will be fined if that policy or plan does not match the government mandates as defined by the new government control. Your employer will be fined thousands of dollars for each employee who is not covered under the plan that your employer voluntarily introduced in the first place for your benefit. This is regardless of whether you are happy with your present coverage or not, the government will determine what is appropriate for you and will demand that you pay the higher fees and premiums necessary to fund the new policy.
Due to this cost increase to existing policies with a fine per employee for each infraction, companies will find it cheaper to eliminate their health care plans entirely and refer their employees to seek out their own personal policy or inform them of a government sponsored health care insurance policy. The individual company that does this will still face the fines for not providing health care for their employees, but that total amount of the fines is smaller than the actual costs of paying the employer benefits amount added to the imposed fines for policies that the government decides is lacking in government approved health care coverage.
If you choose to not have insurance due to your budget or belief that you will not need catastrophic health care for personal reasons, you will be in violation of the law and will be facing a government mandated arrest and several thousand dollars worth of fines to force you to pay for government health care.
If you have an expensive coverage plan already, one where you already have full coverage and can well afford the payments, you will be facing a tax because the new government takeover of healthcare has declared your health care plan to be excessive and they will impose a tax upon your policy and plan and premiums.
In any government run health care system, there is rationing of health care, an intentional rationing of who gets care and when and is independent of the severity of your health condition. While in some cases, a more sever case or condition may expedite health care, the original waiting period to be diagnosed for your condition will be increased to an unhealthy length of time as evidenced in Canada and England.
In this new government controlled health care system, the existing Medicare and Medicaid programs will see a $500 Billion decrease in funding, forcing Medicare and Medicaid to cut costs wherever possible to meet budgets. No one is stupid enough to think that this will not result in fewer services to the infirm and the elderly. Handicapped persons who rely upon Medicare and Medicaid will see their benefits reduced to ensure the financial budget is not overstressed. The elderly will face reduced health care to the point where lifesaving health care will be refused unless someone from the government authorizes your personal health care based upon a government defined definition of what diseases or conditions will be treated based on the present Medicare and Medicaid budget.
In this new government mandated takeover of our health care system, there is what has been termed “Death Panels.” Under the new government takeover of health care, women’s health is severely compromised by the new government refusal to allow coverage for mammograms for women under the age of 50. Men themselves have internal issues that require intrusive procedures such as sygmoid-oscopys which can detect early stages of cancer and this is surely next on their list to restrict an age limit as to when there is health care coverage for such procedures.
In a town hall meeting where he face a friendly question from a woman named Jane Sturm, Obama was asked if Mrs. Sturm’s mother would be allowed to receive a pacemaker at age 100 like her mother already did, and Obama ended his obtuse answer by telling her that some people are just going to have to take a pain killer:

This health care bill is the icing on the socialist cake. They will make you pay for it but you won’t get to eat it.

But, at least you won’t hear any lies from Obama’s Kenyan family, because the Kenyan government put out a Gag Order to keep them from talking to media people.
Barack Obama is a con man because he is making promises that he can’t keep. He has already proven he conned the voters by his chosen cabinet and staff. The World is beginning to realize that he has not changed anything. But the World is going to find out that his chosen associates to help him, as he says in his own words “Rule” over America, are by far the very worst that America has to offer. They will make the Bush and Clinton administrations look like Boy Scouts.
When people start asking questions, con men make themselves scarce. Questions are being asked about Obama and Rahm Emanuel’s relationship with Governor Blagojevich. Maybe it is just a coincidence that Obama is spending two weeks in a $9 million dollar house in Hawaii and Rahm Emanuel took off on a two week vacation to Africa.
America ’s major media has protected him, lied for him, slandered and libeled his Presidential opponents and viciously attacked and labeled anyone who questions his value as “Conspiracy Nuts” or “Racists”.
That is about to change. America’s major media has as a sole function, not to report the news, but to shape public opinion. During his campaign, they shaped Obama into a patient and compassionate gift from Heaven. Now, slowly, they are asking questions about him. Soon, they will shape his image into a hideous beast beyond comprehension. The evidence is available to prove that his ideals, his policies and his stated goals are to transform America into something the Nazis could only dream about: Youth Corps, Forced labor, socialism for the rich, paid for by the poor, military in America’s streets, all leading to complete absolute domination over the American people.
America ’s people will not and are not accepting Obama. The American media is just now realizing that American’s are nowhere near as ignorant and complacent as they thought. And they are learning that World leaders are beginning to question Obama’s desires for the World.
The major media in America will now begin to show why it would be best not to have Obama and his crew in power and Americans will be begging for it to be anything other than what Obama is offering.
It is impossible for Barry Obama to assume the position of President of the United States. It is against the Rights of man, throughout the World, throughout history.
Yes, there have been usurpers, pretenders, imposters, liars, cheats and bunko artists taking over Nations. But they don’t last very long and generally many of their policies are reversed by the next generation of leaders.
If Obama were to take the Oath of Office and become President of the United States of America, and later found to be ineligible under the US Constitution to be President, Americans will suffer in many ways. But equally so, or more so, the entire civilization of the World will suffer.
If Obama is not qualified, nothing he signs will be legitimate. Agencies of Federal, State and Local governments can ignore him. Any Nation on Earth can rescind any agreements he makes with them. And vice versa, future administrations of America can renege on any agreement made that suits their whims.
The United States House of Representatives and the Senate have a duty and took an Oath to defend and protect the US Constitution. If they have not done that, then they also are an illegitimate government and have absolutely no authority to act on behalf of the American People. Any agreements or laws they pass will be illegal. Ambassadors, Secretary of State, Embassy officials all over the World will be rendered sterile.
No Nation, no leader, no military, no corporation and no other entity on Earth will be able to rely on the continuity of America’s trustworthiness. And again, vice versa, any entity will have no obligation to abide by their commitments to America.
The American Constitution is the root of a tree, grown in the soil of Biblical principles, expressed as God’s words in the Ten Commandments. These Ten Commandments are similar to the instructions given to mankind thousands of years ago by all of the World’s religions.
All laws are a branch of the Constitution. The US Constitution does not “give” Rights to Americans. It delegates to the elected officials, to protect and preserve those Rights, which were given to all mankind, of Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. No governing body in America can legally take away those Rights. If a government does take away those Rights and replace them with “Privileges” then life is worth only what the government says it is. At their Will, they can determine if you shall be granted the privilege to continue living if they don’t like what you speak or print or what God you choose to worship. In a society like that, in these modern times, not one Nation on Earth is safe from attack and not one human being can be comfortable knowing he will be alive to see the next day.
That is one small reason why the Constitution of The United States of America can not be altered to accommodate a man who is not eligible to be President under the terms of the Constitution. If we relinquish one Right, the traitors in government will take the rest of them.
The Constitution has no mention of a protected Right for the “Will of the People” to override any part of the Constitution. Anyone who preaches that the Will of the People comes first is a lying traitor and should be shot.
American politicians and major media people are fond of saying, “We are a Nation of laws”. They are idiots. And they are traitors, not only to the American people but to any peoples of the World who desire trust and peace in their dealings with others.
Any politician’s efforts to allow a person to take the Office of the President, who can not prove he is eligible is the highest violation of their Oath to defend and protect the Constitution. Anyone who violates the US Constitution has no authority to represent it.
Nothing they say, nothing they do, no words, no actions, no thoughts, dreams or desires will have any more legitimate importance to the World than a mosquito dying in a swamp.
The only thing that backs up the American dollar is Trust. There is no gold, silver, petroleum, or anything tangible that gives the American dollar a value.
Only “The Full Faith and Trust” of the United States government provides a value to the American dollar. If that trust is destroyed, the American financial system and the American economy will collapse and inevitably morph into something else.
The current multi-trillion dollar bailouts do exhibit that the governing powers in America do not want the Full Faith and Trust of America to be lost. The American government is doing everything in their power to ensure that the World knows that they are worthy of that Faith and Trust.
To allow a usurper to take control over America would destroy what the government is doing to maintain their integrity. I do not believe that they will allow that to happen.
But adhering to the major media’s modus operandi, they will tell us slowly, plant seeds of doubt about Obama, question thoughtfully on the air, pretend to be just realizing the mistake they made, gently debating with each other and gradually lead us to the point of acceptance. They will expertly “Shape” our opinion so that we will all accept that Obama is not qualified and will not be granted the Presidency.
If I am wrong, it won’t be the first time. If I am wrong, I am right that the World’s populations will suffer.
Dr. Orly Taitz’s Esq., representing military and former military plaintiffs, filed a lawsuit against the California Secretary of State asking her to NOT certify the Electoral College votes for Obama. One of the reasons for the request is that one of the 55 Democratic Electors of the Electoral College representing Congressman Berman and submitted to the Secretary of State, Mrs. Ilene Huber was……deceased and has been for eight years. This is on page 16 and 17 of her lawsuit.
Any military or former military personnel are welcome to join her lawsuit by signing this Military Consent Form.
ACORN is notorious for phony voter registration, but for the Democratic Party to list an 8 year old corpse as someone who is eligible to vote for the President of The United States would indicate deceitfulness beyond comprehension. By using a long dead, worm eaten body to get a vote, they prove that they have absolutely no respect for anything.
Barack Obama, by not responding to a lawsuit by Former Deputy State Attorney General for Pennsylvania, Phillip Berg, legally and effectively admitted fraud by not responding to that lawsuit.
If Obama can not prove he is eligible to become President of the United States of America, he will further have committed fraud against an unknown number of campaign contributors in the amount of more or less than 1 Billion dollars. Obama raised close to $1,000,000,000 for a job that pays maybe $400,000. Obama would have to work for 2,500 years to pay that money back if he used his entire salary to make the payments. Or, for 5,000 years if he wanted to eat now and then. If he is not eligible, he may and should be put in jail for the rest of his life and every penny to his name should be confiscated. Every person who aided and promoted his fraud also belongs in jail.
The group of unelected people, known as The Electoral College, has sole right to choose the President and Vice President. If Obama is determined to be ineligible, the Electoral College has the Constitutional Right to elect any Natural Born Citizen they please. They can elect Paris Hilton and Tina Turner if they want to.
Every American should learn their lesson and never listen to another major media outlet again. Over 30 large newspapers in America are for sale and no takers. Some have cut back on deliveries and some will close. Some of these newspapers have been in business for over 100 years. In less than 10 years of Political Correct “newspeak”, the editors have managed to destroy their companies. The New York Times recently announced that they are seeking a loan against their HQ building which they own 50% of. They need to borrow $250 million. And all they need to do to pay it back is to sell 500 million newspapers. The Major Media writers and smiling faces on TV get paid a lot of money to lie to us, but that should not exclude them from ridicule and contempt from their family and neighbors. It should also not exclude them from fraud charges. What kids would want to play with their kids?
The current President of the United States of America has the opportunity to leave his legacy as the President who preserved the United States of America and its Constitution. All he has to do is to walk out onto the steps of the White House and announce, “If the United States House and Senate, if the US Supreme Court, Federal and State Courts from coast to coast will not respect their sworn duty to uphold and protect our Constitution, I will. By a Presidential Executive Order, signed by me today, Barack Hussein Obama, or whatever his name is, is formally and legally prohibited from becoming the President of The United States. Effective immediately”. That would end all controversy and destroy all threats to the US Constitution.

Bush’s tax cut proposal, he would spend more money on tax cuts for the wealthiest 1 percent than all of the new spending that he proposes for education, health care, prescription drugs and national defense all combined.”
44. IF People who believe that all of their money belongs to the government, except that portion that the governing class decides to “spend” on tax cuts, should vote for Gore. So, too, should those who believe that if the government undertakes huge new spending programs, taxes will not increase.
45. IF That you can trust a man who swears his abiding passion is to “fight” for the little guy even though, in 1997, out of an income of $197,729, Gore donated only $353 to charity, and who, in 2000, had to be publicly shamed before having the toilet and sink in his tenant’s house repaired.
46. IF YOU BELIEVE That there is any such thing as a “lock box” in American political life — presupposing that one administration and/or one congress can bind another.
47. If you believe That pharmaceutical companies must be strong-armed to forego profits in the name of lower prices for seniors, and that you can rely on the good faith of a man who casually asserts that “the big drug companies” are now “spending more money on advertising and promotion than they are on research and development.” Actually, a Kaiser Family Foundation study released in July reveals that the drug companies spent between $5.8 and $8.3 billion for advertising in 1998, versus $21 billion for research and development.
48. If you believe That what this world needs, in the words of Al Gore’s environmental manifesto “Earth in the Balance,” is “to establish a coordinated global program to accomplish the strategic goal of completely eliminating the internal combustion engine over, say, a 25 year period.”
49. If you believe That it is possible to commit American troops to every trouble spot around the world while simultaneously starving the military for funds.
50. If you believe That the creation of new federal programs to provide universal preschool, expand Medicare, provide prescription drugs to all of America’s elderly (Bush proposes to cover only the poor), provide universal health coverage for children, fund Technology for Tomorrow Challenge and scores of other proposed initiatives will neither increase the size of the federal government nor eat up the surplus.
51. If you believe That a man who routinely breaks even the rules of a debate format should be trusted when he assures us that throughout the campaign of 1996, he engaged in no illegal fund raising.
52. If you believe That President Clinton’s policies, standing alone, have led to “instead of the biggest deficits in history, we now have the biggest surpluses. ... Instead of quadrupling our national debt, we’ve seen the creation of 19 million new jobs. Instead of a deep recession and high unemployment, America now has our strongest economy in the history of the United States.”
53. If you believe Until a Republican Congress arm-wrestled him into accepting a balanced budget, President Clinton’s policies would have created deficits into the indefinite future. As to the recession of 1990/1991, it was quite mild (not, as Gore always says, “the double dip recession,” whatever that is, and the “worst recession since the Great Depression”). The recovery had begun before Clinton/Gore took office in January 1992.
54. If you believe That, once elected, N.E.A. Al would actually implement his proposal for testing new teachers.

56. If you believe That Al and Tipper Gore have been consistent critics of Hollywood and the rock music industry, as the vice president boasted during the third debate. If, conceding the liberal argument, homosexuality is a genetic predisposition, and a test becomes available to let expectant mothers know if their, “fetus,” is predisposed to homosexuality, should that mother be allowed to abort the “fetus,” on that basis? If she would abort a “homosexual fetus,” does that constitute a “hate crime?” Does preventing her from doing so impose on a woman’s right to choose?
2. If we were not meant to eat animals, why are they made out of meat?
3. Suppose you and one other person were shipwrecked on a desert island, not under the jurisdictional law of any state and/ or country. Is it morally right for that person to kill you, or you to kill that person to stretch the food supply? If not, what makes it morally wrong?
4. If sexual activity of any sort is “ok,” provided it is between consenting adults, does this include incest between children over 18 and their parents? If not, why? Why not... 17? 16? 15? 14?
5. If the government can arbitrarily set the minimum wage at $5.35 an hour, why not set it at $200.00 an hour? Wouldn’t this improve the lot of the poor and lower working class? To what degree should the employer be able to determine the value of labor?
6. If you over-paid a shop owner $20.00 for a new carpet cleaner, would you not expect a refund or credit? Would you consider it theft if the business kept the overpayment without refunding or crediting you? Does not, an anticipated multi-billion dollar surplus indicate an overpayment on the part of the American taxpayer?
8. Is it truly and logically possible to be governed by our consent without ultimately being given the resort of arms? How is it possible that a human can honestly and legitimately consent without owning the means to refuse?
9. What paragraph(s) of the Constitution outline the responsibilities of the Department of Education?
10. If we, as a nation and political system have no moral superiority over nations and governments, why do we spend public monies on maintaining memorials to those that have died in order to preserve and spread our way of life? Should we no longer fund these projects?

If, as many Afro-centrist scholars contend, Ancient Egyptian Civilization was the product of black africans, are not the descendants of Israelite slaves who built the pyramids owed reparations?

If one maintains that Darwinian evolutionary theory should be taught as fact, and at the exclusion of all other theories in public schools, one must subscribe to the notion of “survival of the fittest.” If one believes that, “survival of the fittest,” is a natural, evolutionary process, does the Endangered Species Act set a dangerous precedent in man’s interference with nature? Wouldn’t the artificially protracted preservation of a species destined for extinction result in an ecological catastrophe?
14. If teaching the proper use of birth control leads to fewer unwed mothers, why wouldn’t the teaching of the proper use of firearms lead to fewer shootings?
Why do people hold liberal-left positions? (Liberal and left were once very different, but not anymore.)
This question has plagued me because I have long believed that most people, liberal or conservative, mean well. Very few people wake up in the morning planning to harm society. Yet, many liberal positions — I emphasize liberal positions rather than liberals because most people who call themselves liberal do not hold most contemporary liberal positions — have been wreaking havoc on America and the world.
How, then, can decent and often very smart people hold liberal positions?
There are many reasons, but the two greatest may be naivete and narcissism. Each alone causes problems, but when combined in the same person, they are particularly destructive.
At the heart of liberalism is the naive belief that people are basically good. As a result of this belief, liberals rarely blame people for the evil they do. Instead, they blame economics, parents, capitalism, racism, and anything else that can let the individual off the hook.
A second naive liberal belief is that because people are basically good, talking with people who do evil is always better than fighting, let alone killing, them. “Negotiate with Saddam,” “Negotiate with the Soviets,” “War never solves anything,” “Think peace,” “Visualize peace” — the liberal mind is filled with naive cliches about how to deal with evil.
Indeed, the very use of the word “evil” greatly disturbs liberals. It shakes up their child-like views of the world, that everybody is at heart a decent person who is either misunderstood or led to do unfortunate things by outside forces.
“Child-like” is operative. The further left you go, the less you like growing up. That is one reason so many professors are on the left. Never leaving school from kindergarten through adulthood enables one to avoid becoming a mature adult. It is no wonder a liberal professor has recently argued that children should have the vote. He knows in his heart that he is not really an adult, so why should he and not a chronologic child be allowed to vote?
The second major source of modern liberalism is narcissism, the unhealthy preoccupation with oneself and one’s feelings. We live in the Age of Narcissism. As a result of unprecedented affluence and luxury, preoccupation with one’s psychological state, and a hedonistic culture, much of the West, America included, has become almost entirely feelings-directed.
That is one reason “feelings” and “compassion” are two of the most often used liberal terms. “Character” is no longer a liberal word because it implies self-restraint. “Good and evil” are not liberal words either as they imply a moral standard beyond one’s feelings. In assessing what position to take on moral or social questions, the liberal asks him or herself, “How do I feel about it?” or “How do I show the most compassion?” not “What is right?” or “What is wrong?” For the liberal, right and wrong are dismissed as unknowable, and every person chooses his or her own morality.
A good example of liberal narcissism is the liberal position on abortion. For the liberal, the worth of a human fetus, whether it is allowed to live or to be extinguished, is entirely based on the feelings of the mother. If the mother wants to give birth, the fetus is of incomparable worth; if the mother doesn’t, the fetus has the value of a decayed tooth.
There are not many antidotes to this lethal combination of naiveté and narcissism. Both are very comfortable states compared to growing up and confronting evil, and compared to making one’s feelings subservient to a higher standard. And comfortable people don’t like to be made uncomfortable.
Hence the liberal attempt to either erase the Judeo-Christian code or at least remove its influence from public life. Nothing could provide a better example of contemporary liberalism than the liberal battle to remove the Ten Commandments from all public places. Liberals want suggestions, not commandments.
Jessie Jackson has added former Chicago democratic congressman Mel Reynolds to the Rainbow/PUSH Coalition’s payroll. Reynolds was among the 176 criminals excused in President Clinton’s last-minute forgiveness spree. Reynolds received a commutation of his six-and- a-half-year federal sentence for 15 convictions of wire fraud, bank fraud & lies to the Federal Election Commission. He is more notorious; however, for concurrently serving five years for sleeping with an underage campaign volunteer.
This is a first in American politics: An ex-congressman who had sex with a subordinate won clemency from a president who had sex with a subordinate, then was hired by a clergyman who had sex with a subordinate. His new job? Youth counselor. Is this a great country or what?
If Mark Foley, the Florida Congressman who resigned after accusations of improper conduct with congressional male pages were a Democrat...
There would be no “scandal.”
*He would be lauded as one who overcame childhood sexual abuse to become a member of congress.
*His party would rally to support him regardless of his behavior.
* The media would do everything possible to suppress or minimize the story.
*The news would definitely not come out around election time.
*He would be a hero to NAMBLA, the homosexual lobby, the ACLU, and other liberal groups.
*Any attempts to condemn his actions would be labeled as “discriminatory” or “homophobic.”
*The mainstream media would decry as “mean-spirited” and “politically motivated” any Republican efforts to censure him.
*It would be “only about sex.”
*He would not have resigned.
*His party would do everything in their power to get him reelected.
