A new Rasmussen poll has Senator Ben Nelson down 30 points in a theoretical race against current Republican Governor Heineman. Nelson's health care vote seems to be the reason. Sixty-four percent (64%) of Nebraska voters oppose the health care legislation Ben Nelson voted for, including fifty-three percent (53%) who are strongly opposed. Only 17% of Nebraska voters approve of the deal Senator Ben Nelson made to sell his vote for a special Medicaid deal. An April 2006 poll by Survey USA found him to be the Senator with the highest popularity rating, 73%, among his own constituents.

Nelson is a rat and a scumbag. He wasn’t thinking about his state but his wallet. Even Judas waited til the end to show his true colors.

He and his spawn will be well taken care of after he is booted out of the Senate by the people.

He and his family will still have the Senate Health package for the rest of his days, as well as his Senate retirement package and other fat perks.

Oh, wait. It was the Senators who were generous to THEMSELVES with OUR MONEY.
So many of these politicians said they would face repercussions from the voters in order to support the health care bill. I don’t think any of them really expected to have to suffer the consequences. It’s been so long since guys like Nelson have actually had to answer to voters they have no idea how it works.
It will be interesting to see what happens when it comes time for reconciliation and they are down by 30 points or more and facing an election is mere months. Talk is cheap.

This is why the Dems need to pass their Genocidal Medicine proposal fast.
Doesn’t Ben Nelson have one “reconciliation” vote left he can use to save himself?
And had the sense to hang himself for his treachery. I and many others would forgive Nelson if he did same.
