"..Most remarkably, the total amount of CFCs, ozone-depleting molecules that are well-known greenhouse gases ... decreased around 2000.Correspondingly, the global surface temperature has also dropped. In striking contrast, the CO2 level has kept rising since 1850 and now is at its largest growth rate."

This turd must be looking for another grant at our expense. That is what it is all about.

Frankly I think the fluorocarbon scare was a scam. The patent was set to expire on DuPont and they wanted something else to replace it. No wonder the Political Class thought the Global warming scam would work.

I was wondering about the climate effects of catalytic converters today.

Good grief. These climate “experts” keep crawling out of the woodwork with new theories.

They ought to all shut up for about ten years. Let’s see a single one of them actually predict something unexpected, based upon their superior understanding of the way nature works.

No one understands how the earth’s heat balance works, or what causes the ozone to deplete and then come back. The temperature, the ozone, the ocean currents, you name it. It’s all too complex, too interrelated, too vast for good measurement (CRU’s big problem). Solar effects, cosmic rays, other variations in outer space, volcanoes, and just plain chaos. There may yet be other factors that haven’t even been considered.

There is no shortage of arrogance in this field.

“As well, there is no solid evidence that the global warming from 1950 to 2000 was due to CO2. Instead, Lu notes, it was probably due to CFCs conspiring with cosmic rays. And from 1850 to 1950, the recorded CO2 level increased significantly because of the industrial revolution, while the global temperature kept nearly constant or only rose by about 0.1 C.”

Very Cool!

So why did most of the global warming in the last 200 years occur before the 20th century?

It’s the sun, stupid.

Doesn’t this guy know that CO2 is the only significant mechanism for global temperature control?
