United States Senator Ben Nelson (D-NE) receives his $174,000 annual salary through payroll checks drawn from the U.S. Treasury but he actually works for the Corporation. The DNC Services Corporation. So, while the U.S. Constitution authorizes his office in the Legislative branch of the federal government, Mr. Nelson takes his marching orders directly from the DNC. And even though the Declaration of Independence proclaims that governments “deriv[e] their just powers from the consent of the governed,” given the choice between following the lead of his constituents back home in Nebraska or the dictates of officials of the Corporation, again, Mr. Nelson defers to them.
Surely, if the enlightened thinkers who conceived and drafted of the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution had intended to transfer any portion of the power of the people into the domain of the major political parties in this way, they would have mentioned political parties somewhere, anywhere in these auspicious documents. Nelson is scared. I do wonder if he will show his coward face in Nebraska.
Let’s keep the pressure on - especially Nelson. The governor and people of Nebraska are really giving it to him. Let’s add fuel to the fire! Let him know we are not only sick of the corruption of which he is chief benefactor, but we will also be cheering for the Cornhuskers to lose big to the Arizona Wildcats in their upcoming bowl game!

My gut feeling says he’s going to resign outright by the end of December, and my gut is seldom wrong, especially after consuming a medium-rare steak and pints of Sam Adams.
He mentioned consequences if he didn’t vote for the bill. I believe they were blackmailing him with the Offit AFB closure. Truly.
It's absolutely stunning that the same electorate voted in Mike Johanns (R) by over 57% in 2008. Talk about schizophrenia.
Let's hope that Nebraskans have learned their lesson for a long time about electing another Nelson.

I hope the people of Nebraska aren’t just angry but AWAKE and won’t be taken in when Nelson votes against the HealthObamanation when Commissar Reid only needs 51 votes and lets Nelson vote nay.
Well Ben Nelson, to quote Donald Trump “You’re Fired!!” If the citizens of Nebraska who elected you are not your boss, I’ld be curious to know just WHO YOU consider your boss or bosses are.

Are you an Arizona Wildcats fan? Or do you think the Nebraska football team are responsible for electing Ben Nelson?
DallasDeb, I left out all of the particulars of these reported threats and deals because these considerations are only secondary to the point, he is supposed to carry out the wishes of the people in NE. Suppose Sen. Nelson believes that, many those 67% of people polled who opposed his support of this bill, would come on board if they knew about these and other details of the ‘negotiations,’ then, he should have taken the time to communicate these details to the people, in an effort to change their minds. Instead, he made sure to avoid such disclosure to the voters of NE by adhering to the too rushed voting schedule imposed by the thieves and scoundrels pushing this monstrous largely unread, wholly unintelligible health insurance bill through Congress before Christmas recess.
