This guy is shooting a 50 CAL. Watch the dust when he fires. The target is a steel plate, 1000 yards away. You can hear the ping of the hit, and then the bullet comes back and hits the ground just in front of his position, then tumbles up hitting his earmuffs, knocking them off of his head. The footage is amazing. You can hear the bullet as it tumbles through the air on its course back toward the shooter. He's lucky it hit the dirt first. He is okay, and obviously very lucky. The bullet grazed his temple. What a difference a half an inch makes.

There's really only two options: either the bullet hit the edge of a previous impact and was flung around through the dent - or something like that - or it's not the bullet, but a rock or a piece of the target.

Personally, I'm betting it's not the bullet.

I just showed it to my husband, and he also doesn’t think it’s the bullet that hit the guy. He thinks it was somehow staged.

The idea is to be able to hear the "ping" as it hits. In 99.99999999% of cases, the bullet would deform or bounce off at an angle different than dead back at the shooter from over half a mile away...?! This was that however many number of zeroes of percent where the plan failed.

I had this happen to me with a golf ball. My tee shot went over a creek and hit the only tree in the fairway about 50 yards away. It ricocheted back at me and landed within an inch of my tee. I’m glad it wasn’t a bullet.
