I had intended to spend this time of my life writing a review for James Camerons Avatar, but there is a bit of news involving a protect surrounding the film that I feel needs to be addressed. But instead of listening to me talk about it, lets let the folks over at the Stop Avatar Movie blog: ---------------------------------------
On Friday, December 18, 2009 thousands of people will be protesting the release of the James Cameron movie, Avatar. The purpose of the protest is as follows:
1) To make all people aware that heterosexual arrogance, assumptions or exclusions of alternative sexualities in movies is no longer acceptable. Diversity and tolerance are human rights.
2) To speak out for all gay, bi-sexual, genderless and transgender people who are not represented by any character in Avatar.
3) To educate people about Evolution and humanity's transition to transgenderism.
All protests will be peaceful and non-confrontational. Suggested methods of protest:
* Stand outside of theaters with signs and pamphlets to express your views * Sit down in theater lobbies and do not move unless the police use force or violence upon you * Stand up during a viewing of Avatar and remain standing * Buy tickets to Avatar in bulk but do not attend showings. An empty theater sends a message * Bring your mate to the theater and show affection to each other.
Reminder: SILENCE = DEATH. We will be silent no more.

Oh crap! Blah blah blah blah....
If I read more of their crap I’ll grow a brain tumor.
The theater cares. They make all their money on concessions and almost none on the movie itself. Empty seats is bad for the theater. But you're right the studio could care less as long as the tickets are sold.
Box Office Mojo estimates $232,180,000 worldwide. Not bad for opening weekend.
***3) To educate people about Evolution and humanity’s transition to transgenderism***
A BIG argument started between the libs at a party when I asked how natural selection came up with homosexuality.
Wished I had some popcorn 8^)
I saw Avatar last night. It's not anti-human. Well, maybe a little but it's more anti-American.
The natives of the planet are the American Indians and we, white earthlings, come to their planet to rape and pillage the land and kill the natives indiscriminately.
It was highly political and slanted but I have to say I put that aside and enjoyed it. Maybe paying $9.50 had something to do with it?
I liked it.
Actually, the theatre does care. They don't get that much of the box office from even packed houses. It's the popcorn concession that provides the gravy.
The public will turn away from homosexuals every single time they’re offered ~ that’s what’s happened to MSNBC and CNN.
I haven’t seen the movie but I understand it portrays all white capitalists as the evil ones.
The movie was set on Planet Pandora, everyone knows the alternate sex planet is Planet Claire.

Funny how they think buying tickets hurts the industry. They have it "backwards" like usual.
I just saw this movie with mixed emotions
It is clearly a takeoff on American settlements of this continent with references to American Indians in the plot lines
the nonsense that Indians were always at one with nature and lived ure lives and were never evil until white men came along garbage
also, the idea that the white men here are always evil and only scientists are thepure ones with the exception being the parapeliegic Marine
but the graphics were awsome! The story wasn’t so bad, it is what is to be expected
for special effects alone, it will win an oscar. I will buy it when it is on reduced price and also has to have extended version enclosed
Walt Disney Pictures “The Prince and the Frog”
They are obviously retarded as well. Standing up in a theater and refusing to sit down is a good way to get your ass kicked too.
Wow, that just about broke the stupid scale.
I just returned from watching it in 3D. There are some liberal stereotypes in it, especially the gung-ho military commander. I came away with a distinctly anti-narcissist message. I doubt that was the intent, but there it is.
Did you see it in IMAX or regular? Any recommendation?
I see domestic of $73,000,000 on MOMJ (which they can pretty well estimate). No one has actuals in for the foreign amounts. Look here...

Scroll down and look at the countries. All of them are N/A.
Yes, it’s ALL about attention. They are devoid of any trace of intellectual and spiritual content. This, same-sex marriage, gays-in-the-military, is all “an attempt to legitimize homosexual behavior by encoding it into law.” Good summary of the same-sex marriage movement here: http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2009/dec/06/capital-to-tie-rainbow-knot/
