Matthew Yglesias's Pathetic Attack On Sarah Palin

Ever since Sarah Palin united and galvanized support from conservative Republicans, the left has engaged in one false smear after another. And Matthew Yglesias is no exception.

In addition he also criticised the Rev. Franklin Graham for speaking the truth in regards to Islam.

When Palin voiced her strong opposition to pressure on Israel by Obama, stating that " I don't think Obama has any right to tell Israel that the Jewish settlements [towns, cities] cannot expand", -

Yglesias responded by launching an attack on Palin that was a regurgitation of the left's "end-times" slander against Christians who are supportive of Israel. To that end he cited Jeffrey Goldberg who wrote:

" ...is this an indication that Palin buys into creepy End Times thinking, in which the ingathering of the Jews, and their mass death, presage the return of Christ? Inquiring minds want to know."

Goldberg and Yglesias need to read Erick Stackelbeck's "Slandering Christian Zionists":

"It is often said that ridiculing Christians and their beliefs is the last acceptable form of bigotry. Ultra-secular critics on the left, of course, usually scoff at this notion." [ as do Yglesias and Goldberg]

Who the heck is Matthew Yglesias?
And how many people even pay any attention to whatever nonsense he has to say?
If he wants to attack Sarah Palin, he's gonna have to shout a lot louder to be heard over the rest of the loony left baying pack. Not that it would make any difference.

Matthew Yglesias is the son of Rafael Y, who is the son of Jose Y. who died about 15 years ago. Matthew is obviously the youngest and least seasoned of his family , and his cliche-ridden writing shows it. Jose was a good writer, but probably a little enamored of and cowed by Castro: I remember reading his book IN THE FIST OF THE REVOLUTION, years ago, about Cuba and the Cuban people and how they were coping with living in a ‘revolutionary’ society. As far as I know, he never found it appropriate to be critical of Castro. Rafael has written novels and screenplays: I liked FEARLESS, based on his novel, about the twisted afterlifes of airplane crash survivors. A very good movie.

I see.
Thanks for the info.
Essentially, they are exactly the kinds of people we'd expect to attack Sarah Palin.
I guess they still haven't cottoned on that the more they attack her, the more popular she gets with conservatives, and according to the latest pols, even with independents.

Having just refreshed my memory with a little google research, the elder Yglesias, actually wound up being more critical of Castro than many other leftist intellectuals, but it took ALL of them SO long to finally admit they were wrong about him. They allowed themselves a good dozen years, till the early 70s, to wake up-—I guess they were just swept away all during the 60s with Anti-Americanism because of Vietnam, and found the struggling Cuban Revolution and the exploits of Che Guevara in Bolivia glamorously enthralling.

One thing I like about Sarah, now that she's free to talk, is her "bring it on" attitude and comebacks, which infuriates the left even more. Will they up the ante and make even bigger fools of themselves? I hope so.

Most people will never notice. They're too engrossed in reading her book.
