Stanley Fish of the New York Times actually wrote a very very positive review of Sarah Palins: Going Rogue An American Life: Sarah Palin is Coming to Town.
When I walked into the Strand Bookstore in Manhattan last week, I headed straight for the bright young thing who wore an Ask Me button, and asked her to point me to the section of the store where I might find Sarah Palins memoir, Going Rogue: An American Life. She looked at me as if I had requested a copy of Mein Kampf signed in blood by the author, and directed me to the nearest Barnes and Noble, where, presumably, readers of dubious taste and sensibility could find what they wanted.

The questions to ask then are (1) Does Palin succeed in conveying to her readers the kind of person she is? and (2) Does she do it in a satisfying and artful way? In short, is the book a good autobiographical read? I would answer yes to both.
First, the art. The book has an architectonic structure that is built around a single moment, the moment when Palin receives a call from John McCain inviting her to be the vice-presidential candidate of the Republican party. When we first hear about the call it is as much a surprise to us as it was (at least as reported) to her, because for six pages she has been recounting a wonderful family outing at the Alaska State Fair. When her phone rings, she hopes it might be a call from her son Track, a soldier soon to deploy to Iraq, but it was Senator John McCain asking if I wanted to help him change history. etc.......
A warning to the left to take Sarah seriously instead of continuing their current penurious branding campaign. This is a warning also that Sarah Palin is immune to the left's technique of attempted character assassination. And last but not least it is a warning to RINOS like NEWT GINGRICH, who even now is attempting to deny Sara a legitimate seat among his RINO cronies and country club Republicans, who wouuld rather play diplodink games with the Obama junta enemies of America, instead of destroying them. And make no mistake about it, we must destroy them in order to save America and its individual liberty.
A good article? It is an analytical article instead of the usual NYT attempted usual character assassination tabloid offal. For once they are taking Sarah seriously. Now the real battle begins.
They yield only in self acknowledgement of a need to search for more effective weapons.
He’s right that we hears an authentic voice as we read. She is, in fact, a lot more articulate, at least when speaking off the cuff, than Obama. At the same time, there is a kind of reticence when talking about truly private matters. Sort of a “Victorian” quality like in Harry Truman’s autobiography. Harry was this 4-eyed bookworm who found he could effectively command men in the army and won their lasting respect. She found hers doing guy-things and playing basketball.
I can’t believe a decent article came from the New York Slimes. Are pigs officially flying now
What is most striking to me about Sarah Palin is her willingness to get in the deep mud and she’s lucky to have a good press in the past in Alaska. Remember those great pics of her with the Alaskan National Guard ? That says a lot to me.
that fraud residing @1600 Pennsylvania Ave can’t hold a candle to her.
GO SARAH!!!
Loved that line: “The message is clear. America cant be stopped. I cant be stopped.”
Its a good line and a clarion call to the left.
Have you heard the audio version? It is clear she is telling her story straight from her heart. Her intelligence and compassion come through. These are not the words of someone else, but her own.
After all this “jock” stuff, I was a bit shocked when I took her hand at the Plano, TX, signing. It is so little. Bet she got a lot a bunged up fingers along the way.
I didn't read the article, but the title is a rallying cry. Those who hate Reagan are on a mission.
It is more than a decent article, it is inspiring in its own right.
They yield only in self acknowledgement of a need to search for more effective weapons.

Yes, they'll search for "more effective weapons", and more effective ways to search out her vulnerabilities and weaknesses.
Sarah has something to her advantage that isn't readily understood by people who lack her faith in Christ. She has the knowledge that when she is weak then she is strong.
I didn’t bother reading the comments, since I just ate, I was just shocked that any positive article about Sarah Palin was actually in the New York Slimes
How tall is she in person? From what others have told me she is a lot shorter in person then what she appears on TV. I can relate, I have small hands myself
I don’t think I’ll ever tire of reading about Sarah Palin, but I almost skipped this one just because it was in the NYT. However, it’s a remarkable article. Thanks for posting.
Help us, Sarah Palin. You’re our only hope.
She is a short, short, femailien. She is probably the same height as my 5 something sister who is also short. “Short in height but tall in stature” as was stated in the movie Krull.
How tall is she in person? From what others have told me she is a lot shorter in person then what she appears on TV.
Sarah's petite, smaller than I expected. She's not short, nor tall. I'm 5'5" and she seemed a bit shorter than me. I wouldn't be surprised if she's a size 2 or 4, max. Everyone asks me if she's as beautiful in person as she seems on TV. I would say, even more so. Her beauty radiates from within. She's the genuine article.
Good article, kudos to Stanley Fish. And it would have taken some spunk, no doubt he’ll be tormented by some in his social and work sets.
If the NYTs was like this 25% of the time, I could be encouraged to buy it every now and again.
