Happy ending, my....um foot.... Yeah, that’s it.

They only stopped because they got caught. They didn’t have the integrity to not do it in the first place. Why should we entrust them and trust them with the pursuit of knowledge?

What with all the fraud that is attempted in science, particularly in the area of evolution and the desperate attempts to find (or create) the missing link, leaving science to those who know what they’re doing is a pretty poor appeal.

I suppose they do know what they’re doing, so to speak, but I doubt that’s exactly what you had in mind.

Newton was a creationist. He concluded that the universe was orderly and could be studied to learn more about God because God was a God of order.

Likely you’d go off telling him to stick to theology as well.

"It's not hard to set up on a remote server either."

Yeah, someone went to the expense and trouble to set up a remote server just to tug your nosehairs. I've saved you the trouble and copied the moderator on this. If they think your lunacy has merit they can easily verify it. I have nothing to hide.

If you want to enjoy a kinder, gentler discussion you should post these threads in the Religion Forum. Otherwise, if you decide to play internet hockey in the News / Activism forum anticipate that your feelings just might get bruised.

"There are several comments you made that I requested sources that you provide to back up your comments. Where are the sources?"

What is NL's record on straight forward answers to questions? Not very good, I will wager. But, I leave that definitive answer to you. I am on the cusp of suggesting you not feed the Troll with respect to NL, as I have with some others.

GG is correct, I fear.

"in the ones I checked there was a happy ending..."

You probably confused her with the expression. Some people think that that is an off menu item at a massage parlor....LOL.

Your numbers just don't add up. The total number on non Catholic Christians who have ever lived is approximately one billion.

As per:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Christian_denominations_by_number_of_members

There are currently one billion non-Catholic Christians alive today. Add in all the non-Catholic Christians who have died, and you would have a figure of multiple billions. For the sake of argument, let's call it 5 billion. That would mean that for your 99% figure to be correct there would have to have been about 500 billion Catholics. This is rather problematic, given that there have only been (roughly) 100 billion people in all of human history (this figure assumes a starting point 50,000 years ago).

“If scientists disagree, then that means the theory should not be accepted. “

You’ve never done any research, have you?

“Spare me your condescending arrogance. “
No, you get back what you shell out. If you want to be an arrogant pr!ck, I can be one too.

“There are plenty of intellectual giants who believe God created the earth,”

There are no intellectual giants that argue with the science and research that is plain to see. There are some who decline to explain their faith with science, like the faithless “creation scientists” do - but let’s not mistake them for intellectual giants - they are not. Send me your list of “creation science” intellectual giants - it is vanishingly small.

“To believe that Human Evolution actually happened is a statement of faith. “

No it is not. You and the intellectual midgets of the “creation science” side keep repeating this - along with “temple of Darwin” and other nonsense. To believe in evolution is to believe that the conclusions of published data seem reasonable after much debate within the scientific community. Again - stop being an arrogant pr!ck.

“To say it may have happened, but we just don’t know is something entirely different. “

That is a false choice. What science says is that there is a theory backed by research and data. The conclusions aren’t stated as unassailable fact - but it’s pretty damn good stuff but never as unassailable fact - as you and the “creation science” crowd say - but you and your “intellectual giant” “creation science” friends bring nothing to the table. You’ve got no game, and never had any - just whining and complaining that you aren’t taken seriously by real scientists.

“I say it is a scam because it is stated as though it is certain and it most certainly is not.”

No it isn’t stated as fact. It’s pretty damn good info, but never fact - as research is always ongoing. It’s so good that it’s almost never disproved, not in the major tenets.

“So there is faith on both sides of this argument”

There is faith on no side of the argument - you don’t even have enough faith in your Creator to simply believe what is in the Bible without trying to prove it scientifically. Scientists that study various aspects that may or may not be related to evolution do so out of pursuit of knowledge. Their faith is separate.

“Evolutionists generally hate to admit just how much faith they must have to believe some of their tall tales.”

Your side cannot discern scientific findings from faith - because you aren’t smart enough to understand the science. It’s like magic to you. If you would have worked a little harder in school maybe you’d actually understand what science tells us......but pretending to be “holier than thou” towards science is not achievement. It’s just pathetic. The whole “creation science” movement is pathetic......It isn’t faith....it isn’t science....it is vacuous drivel.

You caught me making the same (tongue-in-cheek) rhetorical argument made by the YEC's, but instead of agreeing that anyone who doesn't agree with them isn't Christian I posed that anyone who isn't Catholic isn't really Christian. Its just the same shoe on the other foot. I notice that that isn't a very comfortable fit for non-Catholics either and solicited an equal and opposite reaction from you and a few others.

The got caught because their research was found to be faulty, and fraudulent.

You think that because there are charlatans in science that all science must be damned?

Just because “creation science” is stupid and the people that believe in it are complete idiots doesn’t mean that all of Christianity is to be damned.

I’ve heard of “Type A” personalities, but man, you really take it to the extreme......

Probably both.

I don’t think I’ve encountered you on any of the evolution posts before and, from what I’ve seen all of your questioning has been sincere and not motivated by anything but a real want to know. I completely respect that. Any generality that is implied is meant for a specific crowd of troublemakers (ironic, ain’t it?) on these threads and not for folks open to reasonable and honest debate and civil disagreement.

Keep in mind that I was one of the atheistic "evos" to which you sent post #2, where you mentioned your need to either encourage or offend. It seemed rather unlikely that you were trying to encourage me, so I (understandably, I think) assumed the latter.

Given your explanation, I certainly retract my charge of hypocrisy.

These sorts of threads always seem to degenerate into a name-calling contest (Pawn of Satan! Superstitious dolt!). I always try (and usually succeed) to keep things civil, and encourage others to do the same.

You'd never know it considering the majority of the evolutionist's comments on this forum.

Likewise.

What you said applies to you as well, and we're not the ones copying the mods.

And you're whining to the mods about what exactly?

Your bruised feelings?

“In my book, you’re right up there with the likes of Natural Law/Buck W.”

You’ve accused NL and me of being the same person. Why stop there? Perhaps we’re also CW! We/I have 3 separate IP addresses in the same house!

GG, you’re really an embarrassment to Christians. You’re a fraudulent coward and a glass-jawed bully.

On the plus side, GG, you’re only two-thirds the idiot that GGG is.

Cost nothing for a remote connection... I thought all trekkies knew that.

This was not posted in either area you suggested. It was in bloggers and personal. It would have been kicked by the mod (and rightly so) if I had posted it in the News/Activism area.

"If you want to be an arrogant pr!ck"
"Again - stop being an arrogant pr!ck."

Since you have resorted to personal name calling, I will not reply to anymore of your messages.

Almost all of your response is tragic. If you think name calling gets you anywhere in a logical debate, then you are mistaken. Believe what you will, but what I said is true. Your heart is full of faith in the false parts of Evolution, yet you cannot see it. Your faith is in men, in scientists, many of whom have hijacked science to force their own personal beliefs on others (Darwinism, global warming). You are staking your beliefs on scientists who have failed to act as real scientists.

I don’t drink but I am a paranoid jerk... that doesn’t make me wrong. It just makes me more sensitive to arrogant jerks. I have an uncanny ability to spot B-arbara S-treisand at 1200 meters.

Speaking of GGG, where is the old fart? Unless someone spilled his drool cup on his keyboard again causing him to be off line there is a very real possibility that GGG and GG are one in the same. If that is the case the average IQ of mankind just went up three points.....LOL

Yeah... it’s hard not to get lost in the fray. It wouldn’t be the first time I’ve inadvertantly offended someone I did not mean to. If you sling enough words from time to time you forget who the good guys are. I try to look at a persons posting history before I deem a particular post offensive. There are some serial dolts around here and some folks that are just passionate about what they believe.

The original ping was copied and pasted from several replies from a couple of GGG’s posts. I’d honestly love to have anyone respond that tries to keep things on the up and up and would encourage you to upbraid me should I stray. One caveat... please check the comment that I am responding to before reprimanding too harshly.

Thanks.

GG
