I've been working on the top stories about Skins's island for 2009, with that scheduled for release some time the week of December 20-26, when it's a slow day here because of the Christmas holiday.
However, there's something else that's needed, for the following week, the week of December 27-January 2, when it's a slow day here because of the New Year's holiday.
Nominations now being solicited for the
TOP PRIMITIVES OF 2009
nominations close at midnight (central time; 11:00 p.m. mountain time) December 11, 2009
The number of top primitives will be limited only by the number of nominations received; that is, there might, or might not, be more than ten top primitives, and any number of runners-up.
One is free to nominate any number of primitives, but each nomination must be accompanied by at least a one- or two-sentence justification for the nomination.
One may nominate a primitive, or primitives, by commenting on this thread, or in a personal message to franksolich, if one wishes it to be kept confidential. There is no limit on the number of nominations one wishes to make.
Immediately at 12:01 a.m. December 12, 2009 (or 11:01 p.m. December 11, 2009 mountain time), the full list of nominated primitives will be released, after which voting commences (voting to end the following week, time yet to be announced).

Ping for the list.
cool
Who won last year, Frank? I imagine William Rivers Pitt is always in the running.
You know, sir, I do not recall. Right now, we're working on getting the past "Top Ten" threads resurrected, and we'll find out once those are unearthed and reconstructed. The web-site that had them, had crashed (but is now long up and running).
And yes, the Bostonian Drunkard has been nominated.
His cross-carrying carpet-bagging maternal ancestress too.
One can nominate from here by sending me a personal message with the nomination; also, when the voting comes, one can vote from here by sending me a personal message.
The nominating thread is now closed. Voting is underway... please feel free to cast your ballots for Top DUmmy of 2009.
