The President finally presented his Afghanistan plan. He started out well, but spent the rest of his speech apologizing for the United States, kissing the posteriors of his progressive base, and showcasing his lack of resolve to our terrorist enemy. It was not a rally the troops we are going to win this thing speech. It was a I am still not committed to this war, speech. His message was "Ok Lets try this, but if it doesn't work we are going to cut and run."
The below is the text of Obama's speech, annotated with some insight and comments from The Lid ....Three months to wait for this strange contradictory speech. Tonight the president gave a half-baked commitment to the war on terror. The President is right when he says we did not ask for this battle, where he is wrong is having been forced into it, we should be prepared to win. The President's speech did not give an indication that he wanted to win and our enemy got the message very well.

Class will out.
Are you just going around, insulting people for perfectly valid points made?
So, does “Just your typical black woman” mean that you are an Obama worshiping brain-dead black who cannot see past the color of a person’s skin?
BTW, Obama is only half black and he never lived the life of a true American black. He has lived off the white man’s money for many years being whitey’s good little puppet.
Yes, that is pretty much what she does.

Finally banned.
Best to pray for her.
Very strange...
The speech was frighteningly eminisenct of LBJ. LBJ tried to fight a war and not fight a war at the same time. The problem with Vietnam was that it was a no-win war. The purpose of war is victory, not the endless prolongation of hostilities. No-win wars are about the most immoral policy a leader can implement.
Nobody wants another Vietnam, but with BOs timetable for withdrawal in place, that is exactly what we have. BO gave McChrystal only 3/4 of what he said he needs to win the war.
Id like to support his troop surge as I supported the surge in Iraq. It worked magnificently. And if we withdraw, the Taliban will most likey come back into power and well be in the same situation that we were in before 9/11.
But as it is now, all that figures to happen after July 2011, but with many more American lives lost between now and then. If that is the case, then we should just withdraw now and save thousands of lives.
Prior to the surge, I was referring to Dubya as Lyndon Baines Bush, not only for his no-win policy (up until then) in Iraq but for the biggest entitlement program since LBJ. BO makes both of them look like pikers in entitlements and like brilliant sages in foreign policy.
Hey dimwit. You’ve been on a bunch of comment strings with the same novel “screw you” comeback. Get a vocabulary or a life, either would be a new experience for you.
