you know, i have never quite figured out if the chia obama is meant to be a joke or whether it is really meant to be for people who support obama. The commercials could be interpreted to be tongue-in-cheek or could be interpreted to be actually praising him.
It seems terribly demeaning and borderline racist to me. Seriously! I mean, heck, the thing grows a green afro on his head!
I could see anti-obama people buying it as a way to make him into a cheap joke.
Maybe the commercial is designed to be ambiguous in this way so they can sell to both sides? If so, my hat is off to them! Viva capitalism!
