How can Huckabee claim to be prolife and set coldblooded killers free to prey on society again?

“Both were DOA long before this.

The worst thing the GOP could do is put either of these goobers up as their standard bearer.”

I agree with the second part...but they were far from dead, and Romney is who the Democrats will now have to pin their hopes on. Huckster, until tonight, still had the power (somehow) to screw up the Republican selection process and probably would have gotten us someone like Richard Luger for 2012.

“I don’t like Huckabee but he pardoned the guy nine years ago.”

Everyone should check out Michele Malkin’s site to read about this fellow and another charmer set lose by Huckabee. The second guy had raped a high schooler and when he was set free (under the condition he leave the state of Arkansas - gee thanks the other 49 states said) he ended up in Missouri where he was ultimately convicted of raping and KILLING another women (and he was suspected in the death of another).

And yes, I do remember this being a bit of an issue in the campaign, but Huckabee is through now I think. Which is no great loss.

He was released from custody just six days ago, even though he was wanted on a fugitive warrant out of Arkansas and was staring at eight felony charges in all out of Washington state.

WHAT?!

I hope it wasn't to save the state MONEY! I think we can cut some benefits to baby mamas and keep habitual criminals in jail! After all, many of the baby mamas are raising these criminals!

Modification. Slick Willard couldn’t be bothered to spend more than a few minutes on a judicial applicant with a VERY clear agenda of being pro-criminal... he was in a hurry to get to his lunch at Ruth’s Chris. That judge he appointed released the Maucks killer, and who knows how many other criminals... Different approaches, but no less a threat to the public safety.

“Huckabee may have been wrong in letting this guy out...
But the RomneyBots will be along to make hay out of this...
In an attempt to make RINO Romney look good...
Sorry Willard Mitt..you dont have clean hands either...”

It’s still going to be very hard for the RomneyBots to explain away the Mass healthcare plan, among a lot of other things. Having said that, I still wanted him in 2008 (compared to McCain or Huckster), and he certainly would have been MUCH BETTER than Obama. However, I’m all Sarah now, unless she gets squishy on amnesty.

Sorry, but both of these guys are DOA.

Mitt, lets be serious for a moment shall we... Have you seen what RomneyCare has wrought in MA? Let alone the fact we are dealing with gay “marriage” across the country is a direct result of his mishandling of the issue in MA.

ROMNEY COULDN”T BUY HIS WAY TO THE WHITE HOUSE IN 08, and he has ZERO chance in 12.

And Huck??? Please this guys a schyster from way back, slimy as Clinton if not as repugnant.

If either of these goobers becomes the Republican nominee, you will see a conservative from the right absolutely shred them.

Both try to claim the mantle of Reagan but neither has remotely governed from that angle.. they are both laughable to even be considered as the nominees for a party whos only hope for survival is to embrace its conservative base.

Both of these fools are liberal republicans, and have governing records to back that statement up, no matter what rhetoric they try to sell, or how many flags or Reagan quotes they try to wrap themselves in.

Either of these goobers would be an absolute disaster for the republicans in 12. Both will wind up being challenged from the right if they are the party nominee, and you will see Fauxbama win a re-election with a plurality vote of under 40%.

Seattle Times can’t say much. This guy was in jail in Pierce County for raping a child and for attacking an officer - and they let him out on 150,000 bond. No excuse for Huckabee, I’m just saying they can’t say much either. At least what Huckabee did was years ago, they let him out 6 days ago.

According to a local prosecutor in Arkansas and past articles published by the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, a repeat offender named Maurice Clemmons had his 95-year prison sentence commuted in 2001 by then-Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee.

Huckabee cited Clemmons’ young age — 17 at the time of his sentencing — when he announced his decision, according to newspaper articles.

“It was not something I was pleased with at the time,” Larry Jegley, who prosecuted Clemmons for aggravated robbery and other charges in Pulaski County, Arkansas, told CNN Sunday. “I would be most distressed if this is the same guy.”

Jegley said he was told Sunday by “media and police agencies” that the former Arkansas inmate was the same man being sought in Washington state.

He was probably trying to be merciful. Often, we are asked to shorten prison sentences or go for “life” instead of death, or commute sentences, in the name of mercy.

It seems those in power often forget that it shows NO mercy to the next victim(s).

I am all for mercy. But everyone has to be considered. Not just the criminal.

If, for instance, he had become a quadraplegic and therefore quite incapable of committing a violent crime, as was his penchant, I might have commuted his sentence.

Bear something in mind:

If I’m the Palin Campaign (and trust me, there IS a Palin Campaign), the first thing I’m doing is reviewing every commutation and pardon that Sarah ever did to check and see if she ever let any Manson types out of the Alaska Prison system. You know why? That’s what Mitten’s Oppo people are doing and that’s what Obama’s people are doing RIGHT NOW!!!

I suspect there’s nothing but hubcap thieves out there, because if there were any Chainsaw Murderers, we would have heard about them from the D’s last year.

Still, it’s worht looking into.

Best,

Chris

I agree that both should be dead as a doornail...but we’re not the party. In any case, I’ll join you on that 3rd party vote if we get either of those losers.

Quite so. Were I a Governor, I’d be loathe to touch anyone’s sentence, because there is no way I’m going to have the time to learn the particulars of a case. If I did, it would be for a non-violent crime, and for a one-time offense. Repeat offenders or violent criminals ? No damn way I’m signing off on a pardon or commutation of sentence. Huckster should be held liable for the actions of this man, since he personally granted clemency. This is technically worse than what Slick Willard did (but at no point did I ever claim Huckster was suitable for President - I denounced him in almost equal terms).

The biggest loser politcally is Myth Romney. He was counting on the Huckster splitting the social-con vote with SP.

While it’s correct to exam Huckabee’s pardon of this animal 11 years ago, I’d say the Pierce County Justice System is ultimately much more responsible for the release.

Open warrants in Arkansas, rape of a child and he’s let out?!?!?!?!
